Josh Brolin Unhappy With DEADPOOL 2 Performance; Hopes To Redeem Himself In X-FORCE

Production on X-Force is expected to begin later this year and star Josh Brolin has now shared some regrets about his Deadpool 2 performance and reveals that he didn't have much fun working on the sequel.

Josh Brolin was praised for his performance in Deadpool 2 but it doesn't sound as if the Avengers: Infinity War actor had the best of times playing the time-travelling mutant in the sequel based on remarks made during a recent interview. He doesn't elaborate on why but did explain that starring opposite Ryan Reynolds is what helped him to really embrace the character as shooting continued.

"[Then] it clicked," he explains. "I got to know [Reynolds] better. I trust him more. And we started this volley where it was like, ‘This is actually fun.'" Brolin went on to say that he wasn't actually happy with his performance and that he's anxious to redeem himself when he reprises the role in X-Force.

"I do like the way it turned out. But I thought I could have been better," he explains. "Thank God. Man. I literally want to redeem myself to myself. I want to do a better version of what I do." Whether or not he'll get the chance remains to be seen, especially as there's a slim chance that X-Force will never happen due to the impending Disney/Fox merger. For now, we'll all just have to wait and see...

I wasn't too keen on it either. Nothing against him though. He did a great job. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

Hoping he kills it in X-Force!

@L0RDbuckethead

He was a “straight man” in DP 2. Hoping he can go more bonkers in the sequel.

@regularmovieguy - Agreed. I saw too much Brolin and not enough Nathan Summers. Hoping for more in his next turn.

@L0RDbuckethead - I didnt watch it. Was he ever referred to as Nathan Summers, son of Scott Summers? If not then you are right, not Cable.

@L0RDbuckethead - the movie kind of dragged on at the beginning and middle for me... was definitely better toward the end. people just seemed to be "phoning" in their lines at the beginning... whoever directed it didn't really seem to pull much out of the actors.

@SimpleeComplex - I'm not sure actually, I need to watch it again. Maybe they called him Nathan but I don't ever remember hearing theym say Summers?

@JonC - Yeah, I have to agree. In some places the reshoots were a bit too obvious (mostly the convoy scene).

However, that didn't deter my enjoying the film.

@L0RDbuckethead - I know this is part of the point they were making, is that it doesn't matter, but because they made the time travel device work as much as they want it to...

Why would Cable even need to be around for X-Force? Shouldn't he just go home? I'm really hoping we don't just jump in with him having stayed in the current timeline.

Then again, Deadpool 2 really just didn't wanna give a damn about things making much sense if they didn't need to, so....

I'm just gonna go read about bees on Linked In.
