Rising star Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom) may be close to landing a major role in a high-profile project. Insiders tell Vulture that Bourne Legacy writer-director Tony Gilroy wants to cast Australian actor Joel Edgerton as the new hero in the Bourne franchise. But it looks like Gilroy might have a fight on his hands Because Universal wants the actor for the male lead in Snow White and the Huntsman. Universal doesn’t feel he has enough name recognition to carry the franchise, and the studio prefers either James McAvoy or Shia LaBeouf for the role.


Edgerton will next be seen in the sports drama Warrior opposite Tom Hardy.
The Bourne Legacy is currently set for August 3, 2012 while Snow White and the Huntsman is slated for December 21, 2012.

Let Snow White have Edgerton, I'd rather see someone like Sam Worthington in Bourne. Someone who can actually replace Matt Damon.

The only thing Sam Worthington is fit to replace is... Nothing. Sam Worthington shouldn't be considered an appropriate substitute for anything.

Edgerton is great actor and he could definitely carry the Bourne franchise no problem, but i rather see him in Snow White just because i think he nails the Huntsman´s looks perfectly. Universal should just loose the whole idea of continuing the Bourne franchise and make something new. To me Bourne´s story ended in the third one.

Snow White and the Huntsman movie sounds like a great idea but the only thing that ruins it for me is the fact that Kristen Stewart is starring as Snow White!... Now i personally doesnt have anything against that chick but for gods sake she doesnt look anything like Snow White! I mean Snow White should look like the most beautiful girl on earth and Kristen just isnt doing it for me!
