Variety have received the scoop on who may lead the latest Tony Gilroy-directed 'Bourne' installment,
The Bourne Legacy. The site says that Gilroy has been in town week meeting with several actors for the lead role that is not Jason Bourne, but rather, a new assassin with a similar background.
UPDATE: Deadline has added additional Contenders:
Joel Edgerton, Josh Hartnett, Paul Dano, Michael Pitt, Oscar Isaac, Michael Fassbender, Luke Evans, Alex Pettyfer, and Benjamin Walker.
"The list of thesps includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Garrett Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch, and Kellan Lutz, sources close to the process tell Variety."
The site further states that insiders add Gilroy has an idea of what kind of actor he wants, while Universal have their own picks. And lesser-known actors could become a factor because Gilroy wants to screen-test all candidates.
