Kevin Tancharoen Releases Another Picture From His 'Mortal Kombat: Rebirth' Web-Series.

Director Kevin Tancharoen has given us another new picture from the Vancouver set of his 'Mortal Kombat: Rebirth' web-series, this one featuring an unknown character with her hand covered in some strange blue blood...

Kevin is currently in Vancouver filming his Warner Bros. produced web-series and Jeri Ryan will reprise her role as Sonya Blade, and Michael Jai White will also return to the character of Jackson 'Jax' Briggs along with Darren Shahlavi as Kano, and Ian Anthony Dale is returning as Scorpion.

Kevin will be directing the 10 episode web-series and is also writing it alongside Todd Helbing, and Aaron Helbing.

This newest picture goes is released only a couple days after he gave us our first glimpse of Scorpion, which you can view by clicking HERE
and now he gives us this new picture featuring an unknown character with some sort of blue blood or goo of some kind covering her hand.

Here's a brief summary of the series via BloodyDisgusting:

"The only plot details we could conjure up is that a few Earthlings will fight to save the planet from Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung, two Gods ruling over parallel universes, or something to that effect."


The picture has the caption "Blue is not Kitana":

Sweet find man, although I like the fantasy in Mortal Kombat I (2 not so good lol), this web-series looks pretty cool!

they said they going to have the fantasy also this webseries wont be linked to MK Rebirth at all. only the directing style by Kevin Tancharoen will be the same in the webseries.

I like it. I think its going to be pretty sweet. I'm hoping that something more comes of this and it'll someday get elevated above a web series. There's nothing wrong with a web series, I just think a show would do it well. Throw that thing on Starz or one of the smaller channels, and get some creative juices flowing for a great t.v series.

hmph. totally gonna watch this. but im just not a fan of some of the liberties they are taking. i like the tone, the actors look excellent. its just, i don't like Baraka, (even as a character he was lame) johnny cage deserved to die, reptille looks just like nothing even reptillisk. the only thing that will save this for me is Scorpion, Sub-Zero, hopefully Kabal, maybe even Sektor. hell while we are at it Kung Lao. those guys all [frick]ing rock!!!

whats funny Kevin Tancharoen who did MK Rebirth gets a chance from Warner Bros and NetherRealm Studios to do Mortal Kombat webseries. but the guy who did Street Fighter: Legacy fan film does not get a chance to do a proper Street Figther film for Capcom.

@jazzman: That's because Capcom endorsed that fan film. Why they wouldn't give the dude a chance to do a full length is beyond me, because obviously it got almost the same attention as MK. Ah, well..

On a side note, that chic in the pic looks mad good. I wonder who she plays..

That SF video had some cool things in it, but overall it was pretty terrible. They had the kid from Tekken being Ryu, who looks nothing like Ryu, and then a Tom Cruise wannabe looking guy to be Ken with a wig lol. The camera they use is really nice, and the graphics were good, but the whole 'special' moves they did were so corny in that lol. Like, neither of them got hurt from each other's. So stupid. That fire uppercut would have knocked him out. They both acted like they don't get hurt lol. The MK short is far superior.

I have an hypothesis about Blue: as the webserie is based on the origins of MK characters, maybe she is the mother of the Sub-Zeros and a Cryomancer. His husband or maybe the Lin Kuei kill her in this picture to take the two young brothers.

u judging them guys the way they look :p lol. u realise MK Rebirth cast a few of the actors who looks nothing like game counterpart i.e. Lateef Crowder as Baraka. last time i remember Baraka is not a dreadlock plastic surgeon LMAO. we all know Jon Foo is from Tekken but i hope u remember that Lateef Crowder and Ian Anthony Dale was in Tekken also ;).

p.s. Katheryn Winnick who of been a better choice for Sonya Blade lol

I really hope they make this into a movie soon, because that trailer for the web series alone is better than anything i've seen for Mortal Kombat in years.
