Patrick Wilson Joins The A-Team, Plus First Set Pics

Worst Previews are reporting(by way of SplashKnews) that Patrick Wilson(Watchmen, Hard Candy) has joined the cast and we have two set pics featuring the first glimpse of the team's van.

The A-Team casting news has been in full flow recently, the latest addition being Patrick "Night Owl" Wilson. All that is known so far is that he will be playing a CIA operative...my initial assumption was that he would be playing Decker!

He joins Liam Neeson (John "Hannibal" Smith), Bradley Cooper (Templeton "Face" Peck), Sharlto Copley (H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock), Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (B.A. Baracus) and Jessica Biel (Faceman's ex-flame).

Here are the pics from the Vancouver set, where that famous van is being used for a chase scene..

Oh yes, almost forgot. Just in case anyone made a dive for the article to complain about this not being Comic Book related;)

Cool news! Wilson is a great actor and would make a great Captain America...

CAP!

And for anyone who hasnt seen it - check him out in Lakeview Terrace! Him and Sam Jackson (Nick Fury of course) have great onscreen chemistry that would work well in The Avengers! ;D

BA and MURDOCK castings SUCK!!

Terry Crews & Jim Carrey!!!! ; D
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 9/19/2009, 9:14 AM
Yeah, Carrey as Murdock, thats not obvious at all! He would suck in that role and be annoying.

I think Wilson would make a good Pym but a good Cap too. And since there are lots of actors that could pull off Pym(sure he would enjoy that) I think he would be better suited to Cap, who is pretty hard to cast for.

Hmm KNOXVILLE @ not bad @ GUN!! ; )

Hey Wheres the TRANSFORMERS artwork gone??

Nahhh @ ROR @ Not CAP not ever lol! LEWIS is better than him, but we wont go there lol.

Or WORTHINGTON either for that matter! ; D

TYLER @ Good stuff, but seriously you should've told me he was the NIGHT OWL guy, for ages i didn't even know who he was lol. Perfect PYM though man!

Though PEGGS for the DISNEY/PIXAR spin off of ANT-MAN (2) SCOTT LANG, where he steals the suit from HANK! Hey its supposed to be a comedy anyway lol.

Hell yeah! I didnt even know the whole movie was cast yet. Its a pretty good cast especially Liam Neeson (he loves it when his plan comes together after using his particular set of skills) and Sharlto Copley (fooking American army!) but Im still gonna wait and see how this movie turns out as most movies based on classic TV shows have sucked

At least the awesome A-Team van is back :)

And hell yeah for Patrick being in it, he is an awesome actor. Although Im with you LEEE, he would make an awesome Hank Pym, he is way too old for Cap. Although he is a perfect age for Hank. He better be in the Avengers movie in some role because they would have some A list talent there and he would then have been part of two of the greatest superhero teams of all time!

Rampage is a chump for backing out in his fight against Rashad Evans. I guess A-team is more important than fighting someone you have been talin sh*t on for the past year, not to mention he also backed out in his fight with Machida. Movie will be a fail.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 9/19/2009, 2:33 PM
Wow, my ,Patrick Wilson for Captain America campaign is more popular than i ever imagined, lol! Though I still want Jensen Ackles for the part I think Wilson would be a great choice especially when comapred to the other older actors suggested like Brad Pitt! :D

Im planning on doing another 'The First Avenger: Captain America' Fan Cast so keep an eye on Fan Fic!

I'm not so sure of the idea of Patrick Wilson for Cap. I think he might be too old for the role. I agree with LEEE, Patrick Wilson for Pym.
DDD
DDD - 9/19/2009, 4:11 PM
Yeah, I agree, Wilson for Pym. He fits the part well! It needs to be someone quite young to play Cap but who can also be believable as Steve Rogers when he is a little older at the end of WWII, when he's locked away in ice.
Joe6Pack74
Joe6Pack74 - 9/19/2009, 4:28 PM
At least the van looks correct. With the exception of the rims. They probably got it from the back lot at Universal California. Hardly anything gets thrown away out there.

Has anyone heard Copley talk without that weird South African accent? "I've got sweeties for you! Here comes the sweetie man!"
48and2
48and2 - 9/19/2009, 8:26 PM
I dunno about Wilson for Cap. There are better choices. Though I don't much care for Ackles. Kind of leaning towards Karl Urban myself.

But anyway, this ATeam has potential. They didn't cast Mr. T yet did they? He MUST have a cameo.
48and2
48and2 - 9/19/2009, 8:35 PM
@BigHeadSarge yeah he's a funny weird guy. I think he could actually turn out to be a decent Murdock. But you know, if you look at him closely he actually looks a bit like a frail nerdy Cristian Bale - I think that may be part of the reason they're casting him in all these roles. Not that he's not a decent actor - has pretty good range from what I've seen (which isn't much). That and he probly works cheap lol.

I agree with LEE. Jim Carrey is best choice for Murdock.
Scorpioxfactor
Scorpioxfactor - 9/21/2009, 3:41 AM
Who doesn't have the A-Team theme going through their heads right now? Jim Carrey should've been Murdock though.
hescian
hescian - 9/21/2009, 11:26 AM
The fact that they are making this movie is in itself disgusting.
Based on everything I've read about it, other than the van and character names, there is very little related to the original show.

Why ruin the A-Team? Why not simply have a movie about a team of war vets doing what they're doing? Anything for a cheap, easy buck.

God, I hate hollywood sometimes...

HelaGood - 9/21/2009, 12:54 PM
im thinking PYM over CAP, definitely for Wilson.
and the van looks cool!!!!
