Bourne director Paul Greengrass has yet to tackle a superhero movie, but he recently revealed that he was indeed in talks to helm Fox's planned X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover which was set to include characters like Deadpool and Daredevil. That didn't pan out, and neither did the filmmaker's plans to take the helm of a Watchmen adaptation.

Recently, Greengrass revealed that, "I wanted to believe these characters lived in the real world and that a lot of what they were thinking and doing was delusional. There was something in Joker that had [a similar] quality to it."

Now, some concept art from his vision for Watchmen has been revealed, and it's definitely grounded. Shared by artist Adam Brockbank, we see that while Rorschach has his familiar mask, he's looking a little bulkier, and perhaps more like someone from the present day than the 1980s.

We also see Brockbank's take on Dr. Manhattan, and while he's still on Mars, the character looks at least a little different here.

Zack Snyder ultimately took the helm of Watchmen, delivering a movie that (mostly) adhered strictly to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel. It received mixed reviews from critics, but likely would have fared better now comic book adaptations are more commonplace.

@Twenty23Three - how? Thats what the original watchmen did, imagining what a world with superheroes would actually be like. This is basically just modernizing the concept.

Could work but based on the concept art, seems like he may have been taking the material too seriously, Watchmen is also part satire
