Disney/Pixar's "Toy Story 3" surpassed $920 million in worldwide box office receipts, making it the all-time highest-grossing animated film. It is also expected to gross $400 million domestically, which would make "Toy Story 3" only the second Disney pic to do so. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" took in $423.6 million domestically.

"In 1995, the talented team at Pixar introduced a cowboy, a space ranger and their friends who have gone on to become some of the most beloved characters in the world," Disney chairman Rich Ross said in a statement. "The success of 'Toy Story' is due to the tremendously creative and innovative team at Pixar, led by John Lasseter and Ed Catmull, and our incredible marketing and distribution teams around the world."

Boosted by the 3D format, "Toy Story 3" debuted domestically with $109 million to become Disney/Pixar's top opening ever. Film's international total stands at more than $518 million to date.

"Toy Story 3" is scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 2nd.

no, they are coming out before Cars 2 in a 10 minute short,
it would be blasphemy and stupid to make a toy story 4

No no no no no no no no. I'm sorry but no. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love Pixar films but I don't see how a fourth one can be done. I think they should focus on their other films. Andy's gone by the way.

That's a misleading statement.

Tim's contract had an option for further sequels and short films, should they ever decide to make any.

It is not a guarantee that they will make any more feature films.

However, they ARE making new short films with the Toy Story characters, one of which will be the short that plays before next summer's "Cars 2."

@deadpool72: I agree. It had the PERFECT ending. It wouldn't have been right without 2 and 3. If they have a fourth: it will totally piss me off!

1.toy story trilogy

3.the lord of the rings trilogy

It had a fine ending. The trilogy was otherwise flawless, and fourth films make the 'trilogy' look tacky.

Honestly, I thought it was great but nowhere near as good as the past two. It just recylced too much of what we'd seen before. (Buzz thinking he's really a space ranger, Woody going off on his own etc.) I saw the first one when I was only 5 and it still remains the best of the three IMO. :)

Enough Toy Story .. The third one had a fantastic wrap up, so leave it alone.

Instead of that he should sign on for freakin' Galaxy Quest 2!

Oh how I wish they would make a new Galaxy Quest.

WTF! Toy Story 3 was the best ending to a trilogy ever. Pixar has had a perfect record so far, don't tell me they are about to [frick] it up especially with Toy Story!
Incredibles 2 is what is really needed!
