ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Still Sees Scott And Cassie Lang Stranded In The Quantum Realm

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania kicks off Marvel Studios' Phase 5, though the movie's place in the MCU timeline is a little different from its predecessors. Both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp were released following huge Avengers movies, offering a breather for fans who had just witnessed the intensity of Age of Ultron and Infinity War.

Talking to Total Film, franchise producer Stephen Broussard says, "Coming after the Avengers movies, phrases like ‘palate cleanser’ had been thrown around about the Ant-Man movies...[we felt] if we’re getting a chance at part three, we want the film to be big and feel central to the future of the MCU."

Based on what we know about the threequel, it most definitely will be, as Kang the Conqueror will finally make his presence felt in order to be established as The Multiverse Saga's big bad.

"He is very powerful, very formidable, very strong, and will have, obviously, an ongoing presence, à la Thanos in the stories, going forward in ways that are different from Thanos and feel very fresh to us," Broussard teases.

As for the Quantum Realm, which you can see in the newly released still below featuring Scott Lang and his daughter, Cassie, the producer adds: "It feels like a place you haven’t been to before in the MCU, full of people and characters and worlds and politics and history."

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.

@JobinJ - Yep, that's all there is to Thanos and Kang...their color scheme.

@BB8ANG - I love how the CB colorcode was used in Unbreakable.

BTW I never watched Glass, gotta check it out sometime.

@Fogs - It is fascinating how these colors have cemented themselves in our modern mythologies.

@BB8ANG - Yeah... Purple is a color that can convey a sense of luxury, power, and royalty, so it's possible that it is used in relation to villains to imply that they see themselves as superior or to convey a sense of grandeur or extravagance.

@Fogs - There's also the question of the VERY limited color palette for early comics. Not a lot of room for nuance. Good guys are red, blue, and yellow. Bad guys are green and purple.

Majors really about to kill it and flavor of the week really got a trilogy off.

I fear that this one is going to lose the charm of the first two. Also, stakes seem pretty low when we know Kang is going to win.

@mountainman - A Kang is going to win, probably not this Kang.

@mountainman - We know who's going to win, like, 97% of the time.

@mountainman - wait so is stakes always low for 98% of movies? Because we always know the protagonist will win in most movies

@MyCoolYoung - To quote a great book series "Journey before destination". Knowing that Kang wins doesn't necessarily remove all tension and quality storytelling. I'm sure we will lose Hank and/or Janet. And maybe this version of Kang doesn't win. Who knows? I just haven't seen enough to get me excited yet. Maybe the next trailer will do it.

None of the characters look like they actually exist in the locations. Shoving Kang into it won't magically make it successful, the only ones interested in Kang are those familiar with him from the comics which is an incredibly small group OR those who have watched Loki's final episode which even then is setting up a different story to what is going to be told.

Just feels like this was not how Ant-Man 3 should have been honestly.
