Back in November, shortly after we learned that James Gunn and Peter Safran would be taking over as DC Studios co-heads, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa shared an enthusiastic response to the news via Instagram.
The Dune actor spoke about being given the opportunity to work on a "dream project," and the trades would later confirm that there had been discussions about him possibly stepping into the role of Lobo.
Now, Momoa has posted another video to his Instagram stories, reacting to a meeting with DC/Warner Bros. Discovery that clearly went his way!
He stops just short of naming the project/character, but we'd be very surprised if he wasn't told that he'd be bringing life to the Main Man on the big screen!
There are other possibilities, of course, but Momoa has talked about his love for Lobo several times in the past, so based on this video, we'd say it's a fairly decent bet!
Where does that leave Aquaman? Well, it now seems clear that Gunn and Safran are planning a full reboot, which means either a new actor will be cast as Arthur Curry, or the character will be put on the shelf for a while after The Lost Kingdom.
How would you guys feel about Momoa switching out Aquaman for Lobo in the DCU?
