Kevin Feige: No, Scarlett Johansson's Pregnancy Didn't Change AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Script

Not that there were any rumors of such a thing--mostly speculation--but Marvel Studios' head honcho confirms that ScarJo's pregnancy didn't affect the Age of Ultron script; just maybe its filming schedule.

“Well my first reaction was I was very happy for her and very excited for her,” Kevin Feige told Collider of learning that Scarlett Johansson was pregnant. “My second reaction was we’ve gotta move some pieces on the chess board around schedule-wise. But we didn’t change the script at all, which is sort of the most important things for us in terms of the storyline. I think the goal is for us to sit here talking about the fact that you would never know that Black Widow was pregnant during the filming of the movie when you see the final version of Avengers 2.”

The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.

Sounds like Marvel is considerate of her pregnancy. As they should be.

I still think her character should be killed off in Age of Ultron.

Very glad for Scarlett Johansson, and happy she will have a baby. I am sure she will be a WONDERFUL mom.

And I am sure that she will remain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until its inevitable, and hopefully far away, reboot.

She just seems like a REALLY cool chick. Wish these actresses would look outside the actors they work with to find men to love, though. I think they would end up FAR more happy, in the long run.

@Scorpion, no I don't think so. She's too popular, and the character is too popular. Especially in this day and age of political correctness, they can't have even an appearance of trying to make a young, popular actress pay for getting pregnant.

They won't have to explain the pregnancy (on screen) but they MAY have to address why Black Widow is scarfing on hot wings throughout the movie.

I'm a bit worried with Ultron design. He looks too silly in that Comic-Con teaser. It's hard to believe that silly looking robot can be a threat for the Avengers. I prefer the one on the Annihilation Conquest Vol 5 cover, it looks badass and very intimidating

Scorpion.

A woman getting pregnant, and having the child, is somehow a "big mess up" she has to "pay big" for?

Man, that is stinkin' thinkin'.

Right on, SuperCat.

with her having a big role in Cap 2 already and a recent rumor bour her having a possible solo movie, i don't think her role in Age of Ultron would be too big that her pregnancy would have quite an impact on the script.

plus, with Hawkeye and the Hulk already having big roles (as said by the filmmakers) and all the new characters, Wanda, Pietro and Von Strucker AND Vision...let's not forget the BIG three, Tony, Thor and Cap..i think Widow COULD take a backseat in this one until her solo outing.
