Kevin Feige On How AGE OF ULTRON's 'Quicksilver' Differs From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Suggesting that there may be sequences in Avengers: Age of Ultron visually similar to the one praised in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Kevin Feige contrasts Quicksilver's roles in both films. Check it out!

Among other things Kevin Feige discussed with IGN, while promoting Guardians of the Galaxy,  was the fact that both Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox share rights to Pietro Maximoff/ Quicksilver, allowing the character to appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past last May, played by Evan Peters, and Avengers: Age of Ultron next summer played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Asked if Joss Whedon and Marvel have plans to change the visual effects for Johnson's Quicksilver so they would differ from Peters', the president of production replied, "No, we're not." He added, "And there may be some things that look like that, because he runs really fast, and time slows down if you want to be in his perspective while he's running fast." However, he added, "they may as well be two completely different characters." Kevin Feige continued, "We are very much playing up two things that [Days of Future Past doesn't] play with: one is his relationship with his twin sister, Wanda; the other is, his backstory as an Eastern European child of a war-torn country, and we follow him throughout the whole movie -- him and Wanda -- as it relates to their feelings about the Avengers and how that shifts and changes over the course of the movie. So it's a very different thing than coming out from one, unbelievably awesome showcase sequence of the movie, and much more interwoven throughout the entire movie." What do you think?

Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Cobie Smulders Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.

Can't wait to see QS and SW in action!
...also, like the side-swipe directed at Singer...we use him throughout the movie, not just one cool scene, lol...

I'm sure Whecon's QS will be marvelous. Still pumped to see Peter's bigger role in Apocalypse!

Quicksilver in X-men, while it had an amazing scene, was nothing like the QS from the comics. It was like a new character with superspeed.
In AOU he will be more like QS from the comics

Quicksilver's role in Days of Future Past is similar to Black Widows role in iron man 2. Phew being introduced to a franchise where he will play a larger role later.

In AOU Quicksilver will be the great and powerful one! I'm sure abou this, and better than Evan Peters!

I'm sure they'll have "Avengers" costumes once they join the squad, everyone freaking out about the leaked set pics, think we just need to wait some before making judgment...

I'm still going to stick with the idea that this "suit" above, will still resemble this concept below:

All of the added detailing on the suit from the first image, I believe, will aid the post-production crew in creating the effects for Quicksilver's abilities, as shown in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

At least I hope, anyway.

How many things do they think they'll be able to put into AoU? So far we have:
Expanded roles for The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye
A focus on the Tony/Hulk bromance
The creation and downfall of Ultron
A conflict between The Hulk and The Avengers
Introductions for Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch, which includes their backgrounds, coming into conflict w/ The Avengers, and their connection
The impact that TWS had on SHIELD

That's a lot of stuffaroonie.

It will be shitty if this QuickSilver doesn't wear the traditional comicbook costume. (according to some marvelite)

@jollem

"he's always good at the backhanded compliments"

Just like... a certain MCU warior

I think this studio competition will go to Whedon this time...The QS scene was awesome, but all things being even going first sets the bar, and knowing the bar (very high in this case) makes it easier to beat it...

@Chcl What makes you think the AoU Quicksilver will be better than DOFP's?
Just wonderin'

QS was awesome in DOFP, and should be great in AoU. Although, Evan Peters is a far superior actor compared to ATJ. It'll be a better comparison when Apocalypse comes out and Quicksilver's role is expanded.

"Our Quicksilver doesn't dress like that fag in High School who's ass you wanted to kick. But I understand Bryan Singer liking that look. I also understand that I should probably keep my son away from him while unsupervised. Heh!"

Damn Feige!!!! :O

Ezio - That just means someone is going to die! Don't pick a favourite character while you're watching the movie or else said character will die!

I'm a little worried for this QS since ATJ almost ruined Godzilla with his boring acting, plus I don't like his attire from the pics we seen.

I already know Scarlet Witch is gonna rock, unless she hams it up with the crazy.

Sipprelle The background ... the part of them being from Eastern Europe, to me is great!!! The XDOFP chronology's error(as in all franchise) is terrible! When Magneto (Michael Fassbender) have a Pietro ... sorry Peter ... with him age? It's so terrible. Moreover, the gypsy Maximoff died years ago and also the true mother (Magda), where they got that mother in XDOFP? Ridiculous!

I bet all my chips as Quicksilver will be better off in the Avengers ... plus: Wanda will come with him ;)

@Sipprelle

How many things do they think they'll be able to put into AoU? So far we have:

25 min - Expanded roles for The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye
10 min - A focus on the Tony/Hulk bromance
30 min - The creation and downfall of Ultron
15 min - A conflict between The Hulk and The Avengers
30 min - Introductions for Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch, which includes their backgrounds, coming into conflict w/ The Avengers, and their connection
10 min - The impact that TWS had on SHIELD

= 120 minutes or 2 hrs -- add 30 min for "other stuff", there ya go :)

DOFP Quicksilver was fun to watch as many said but the personality they liked so much for him is not the same as he is in the comics

The way Feige is describing their Quicksilver is far closer to his comic book counter part

Is ATJ that bad in Godzilla?... Never had a chance to watch it. I like him in Kick-ass.
