Kevin Feige On How AGE OF ULTRON's 'Quicksilver' Differs From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
Suggesting that there may be sequences in Avengers: Age of Ultron visually similar to the one praised in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Kevin Feige contrasts Quicksilver's roles in both films. Check it out!
Among other things Kevin Feige discussed with IGN, while promoting Guardians of the Galaxy, was the fact that both Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox share rights to Pietro Maximoff/ Quicksilver, allowing the character to appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past last May, played by Evan Peters, and Avengers: Age of Ultron next summer played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Asked if Joss Whedon and Marvel have plans to change the visual effects for Johnson's Quicksilver so they would differ from Peters', the president of production replied, "No, we're not." He added, "And there may be some things that look like that, because he runs really fast, and time slows down if you want to be in his perspective while he's running fast." However, he added, "they may as well be two completely different characters." Kevin Feige continued, "We are very much playing up two things that [Days of Future Past doesn't] play with: one is his relationship with his twin sister, Wanda; the other is, his backstory as an Eastern European child of a war-torn country, and we follow him throughout the whole movie -- him and Wanda -- as it relates to their feelings about the Avengers and how that shifts and changes over the course of the movie. So it's a very different thing than coming out from one, unbelievably awesome showcase sequence of the movie, and much more interwoven throughout the entire movie." What do you think?
