Avengers: Endgame went through quite a lot of changes before its eventual arrival in theaters, but among the biggest was the decision to leave Katherine Langford's scenes on the cutting room floor. As you'll no doubt recall, the actor had been cast as an older Morgan Stark who Tony would have seen in "Soul World" after using the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos.

We've seen those scenes, and while they were touching, it's easy to see why they were scrapped. It wasn't abundantly clear that Langford was supposed to be an adult Morgan and the sequence was one that may have pulled many moviegoers out of an otherwise powerful and shocking moment.

The actor has talked on multiple occasions about being cut, making it clear she'd be open to returning to the MCU.

Well, if a new rumour shared by Screen Geek is to be believed, Langford will soon have her chance. The site claims that the Knives Our and 13 Reasons Why star is in talks for an upcoming MCU project, though they don't specify what that will be or who she might play. Morgan is always a possibility, but that would have to involve the Multiverse or time-travel as she is still a child right now.

Seeing as Langford was cut from Avengers: Endgame and only hardcore fans will know about this deleted scene, it arguably makes the most sense for her to play a different character. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to who that could be, but she's a talent, and definitely someone who would bring a lot to the MCU in a lead or supporting role.

"People are like, 'Oh, are you upset? Are you anything?' And I went, 'Whatever’s the best thing for the film,'" Langford said back in 2020. "Because at the end of the day, I’d rather have had the experience of being in a really good film than be in a film for the sake of being in it if it doesn’t work. You don’t want to be in something and then be the sore thumb that sticks out. And I didn’t feel that way at all and the Russo brothers didn’t feel that way at all."

There are lots of Marvel Studios projects on the horizon, so even trying to guess what Langford is being eyed for is tough. The studio is expected to make some big announcements about the MCU's future soon, so it's possible we'll learn more about where she fits in, if indeed she does, later this year.

Who would you like to see Langford play in the MCU?
