Based on Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) involvement alone, it's clear that Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 is going to include at least some Multiversal elements, and if recent rumors are to be believed, the overarching story is going to encompass multiple alternate realities.

Now, we may have a better idea how and why these various different universes are going to converge, and what the introduction of these Variants - not to mention some familiar faces from 20th Century Fox's now defunct Marvel movie universe - we've been hearing about could be leading to.

According to KC Walsh, the plot of the Merc With a Mouth's MCU debut is going to revolve around the TVA "choosing heroes from dying worlds" in an attempt to prevent the Multiverse collapsing in on itself. Logan is selected from the Fox universe, and is said to encounter Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) when they both find themselves imprisoned in the TVA.

New Earth/Battleworld is a possible scenario, and could be where we saw Wade and Wolvie in those recent set photos. The movie is also set to directly set up the events of Avengers: Secret Wars.

Several X-Men and Fantastic Four characters are rumored to appear, but the one major return that has been confirmed by the trades is Jennifer Garner as Elektra - although it seems speculation that Ben Affleck would be joining her as Daredevil was unfounded, and was based on the actor visiting his ex and their kids on set.

Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will all return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), whose roles are still under wraps.

Plot details also remain a mystery for now, but Wade and Wolvie are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent report claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved. We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3, which is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.

I can't wait for this to continue the trend of great writing we've seen in phase 4 and 5.

Like how nick fury says he can't call on the avengers because normal non powered humans need to save the world, only for his big plan involving an alien getting powers to save the world for him.

He had so much control creativity on his first two films and well he's playing with the mouse now.
Obviously they probably butchered his vision and made him a supporting cast member in his own movie lol

@MotherGooseUPus - Rumors point to a 200 million dollar budget for DP3. We all know how much studio crap comes attached to a big budget like this.

DP should have stayed a mid-budget franchise with more creative freedom, but it's [frick]ing disney.

Deadpool 3 won't even be out till like November/December 2024 at the absolute earliest, Kang Dynasty is going to be pushed back to 2027 and Secret Wars in 2028 (20th anniversary of MCU)... so as fun as speculation could be... why even bother remarking on all this at this stage?

These finales will collapse because the foundations are poorly written - they are just cameos of failed franchises and past heroes at this point and nothing else.

First film had the non-chronological approach and sarcastic self-referential jokes to keep people interested - but taking it from a linear perspective it offered little.

Second film demonstrated they were unsure how to further expand on the character, it had nothing going for it at that stage other than the self-referential jokes.

Now we're moving onto a third film, but the self-referential jokes are going to be written by the same studio that worked on She-Hulk... Disney know its going to suck, so they are simply shoving it full of cameos with a desire to bring back a bunch of the Fox-Verse X-Men.

I lost faith in Deadpool 3 the second it became larger than Wolverine Vs Deadpool, that should have been the core story-line, them fighting and working together - not some sort of weird post-apocalyptic Magneto ruled adaptation of 'Deadpool kills the Marvel universe' strutting out a bunch of old actors and tying into the whole Kang mess.

Deadpool is an odd movie to do this in. Like, the FF would be perfect for this. Have it start in the 60's and maybe they found the Multiverse. Would make sense since the Kangs and Reed from MoM was using Doom tech similar to what the TVA uses. Have Doom be the villain. Have the Doom be the one causing the incursions and be killing the Kangs off.

Just fixed the Kang problem. It was Doom all along.
