We have an eight-month wait for Captain Marvel and while Ant-Man and The Wasp is currently in theaters, it still feels like we're going through a superhero movie dry spell as a result. There's obviously an even longer wait for Avengers 4 and while it's possible we'll get some sort of sneak peek at Comic-Con this weekend, chances are Marvel will choose to keep it under wraps until the end of the year.
During a recent interview, Kevin Feige talked more about the impact Avengers 4 will have on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and once again made it clear that we should expect the movie to have major ramifications while also serving as a "definitive ending" to a story that started with Iron Man.
"But, storylines can come to an end. The best stories do come to an end. Return of the Jedi was an ending for a long time and as a 10-year-old in 1983 that carried me through 30 years until there was a sequel. That hasn’t happened before in the superhero genre. A new actor comes in and a new storyline starts right away. We wanted to do it this way because we think that the best stories have a definitive ending to a storyline. That’s certainly what’s going to happen next year with Avengers 4."
Once again, it's apparent that Phase 4 will look very different to what's come before and a lot of faces we've grown used to seeing will no longer be part of the MCU. The Dark Knight Rises obviously offered a "definitive ending" to a storyline which began years earlier with Batman Begins but what Avengers 4 is doing is still pretty unprecedented and there is a very good chance it will be like nothing we've ever seen before. What do you think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on that below.
