Details For A Cleveland Spot Doubling For 'Germany' & Loki's Lair In The Avengers!

Although not as exciting as the previous, images and a vague description for set preparation for another filming spot in Cleveland for The Avengers have hit the net! Check it out!

Noted of the location yesterday, set construction for another filming spot in the Public Square of Cleveland, Ohio, is well underway for Marvel Studios' The Avengers. While it was said the area is doubling for Stuttgart, Germany, SHH and have posted images and vague details from the set prep. And courtesy of Cleveland local, Dlayphoto, preparation is also underway nearby, with signage for Schloßplatztheater, which in reality is location in Berlin, Germeny. Anyhow, check it all out below.

Today they removed the State of Ohio and American flags and replaced them with the Civil flag of Baden-Wurttemburg with the crest of the City of Stuttgart in the middle, as well as the Greater State Service flag of Baden-Wurttemberg.

I have included photos, as well as an aerial shot with arrows indicating items which have been added to Public Square. The red arrows indicate new walls which have been built. The yellow arrows indicate items that have been added, such as the aforementioned Oktoberfest bars and potted trees. Most of the plants/vegetation has also been added.

Also, a source at the Renaissance Hotel, which is connected to the Terminal Tower, told me that there will be some explosions during filming in Public Square. He was told of this so that he could inform hotel guests.

UPDATE: And relating to another future filming location in Ohio, according to Pop Up City, the lower level of Detroit-Superior Bridge will be used in the filming of The Avengers. And the "catacombs" on the west end will be the lair of the villainous Loki.

While Marvel is quiet on which stars would be included in the 'Germany' scenes, it'll reportedly be a night-shoot. And filming on the location commences Monday and will last at least a week.

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki Laufeyson), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

International locations bring in more international money. It's always good to work in a world-wide threat.

@Aklash...did you read the Ultimates? The Chitauri had a huge influence on Nazi Germany. Their shape-shifters where in all levels of the Nazi party and army.

@Gmoney84, yes, that's why I'm asking if it couldn't be the Chitauri after all, dude.

My only doubt is if the german square is to be a WW2 one.

I hope they throw in a canal when they shoot the Venice scenes. They could use the Cuyahoga River but I think it tends to catch fire
