One of the perks that come from Chris Evans making the promotional rounds for
Captain America:The First Avenger is that we are hearing more than we have in months concerning
The Avengers. This time we find him talking about being halfway through filming, working with so many actors, Joss Whedon and Hemsworth as
Thor.
What it's been like working on The Avengers so far...
It's going great! It's going really well. Every one's fantastic. We're still...I was going to say it's still early but it's not early. We're almost halfway through but it's going so well. I didn't know what to expect. I've never worked on a film with so many experienced and accomplished actors and I didn't know how Joss, our director was going to handle it. It's a tall order, not only bringing all these comic book characters together but these people, these actors. He's just been, he's unbelievable. I think without Joss we're lost. He's really been fantastic.
On what it's like on the set with so many actors...
What a ridiculous list. It's crazy! Especially Hemsworth. I gotta give a special nod to Hemsworth because that guy is Thor. Have you ever seen him in life? He's huge. He fills up this whole doorway. He is just like, a massive man. He looks like Thor. He puts on that cape and that wig and you're just like wow...it's the God of Thunder. On Captain America you're the only super hero. On The Avengers you get to see other outfits and your kinda like.. oh yeah, it's a super hero movie. It's crazy seeing all that stuff.
The Avengers directed by Joss Whedon and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson is set for release May of 2012.
