When Michael Keaton was cast in Tim Burton's Batman as the Dark Knight himself there was an incredibal amount of uproar because many considered Keaton as a comedic actor. Now during a recent Q&A Keaton was asked how the uproar made him feel.

Q: When you were cast as Batman, it was before social media, but there was such an incredible uproar that they cast a comedian in the role. How did that make you feel?

MICHAEL KEATON: It baffled me that anyone was thinking about that. I heard about the outrage, and I couldn’t get it. I didn’t understand why it was such a big deal. It made me feel bad that it was even in question. I thought it was half-funny, but it was in the middle of shooting, so the pressure was on. The pressure was on all of us, anyway, to see if we could pull it off. We didn’t even know if the suit was going to work. It kinda didn’t, for the first couple of days. It was pretty ridiculously funny, actually. I have claustrophobia, and being in it and not being able to get out of it, all day long, was a huge deal. I thought, “You better figure out a way to make this thing work,” and I did. I just went a little deeper inside of the guy. He’s a very alienated dude, inside of himself. I just went to that place. And then, I got used to it and worked it. It was so strong and powerful that there wasn’t much I had to do except work that suit.

Not as lame as Dr Doom being a blogger and being defeated up Squirrel Girl in the comics.

Keaton and Burton's films were are. Batman was great. Returns was great. Would have loved a third film from them especially because Billy Dee would be back as Dent and Robin Williams was gonna be Riddler.

Yeah also fans do not give Tim Burton nor DC enough credit for the first two movies. Heck look at what Marvel was trying to push out at that time it was all garbage from DC and Marvel.

Also this movie changed my perception on Batman........

Joe, Burton really did the first dark superhero films. I mean before there was just Superman films.

Penguin is provably the darkest and most disturbing villain in any superhero film. He wanted to kidnap the children of Gotham's rich and bring them to the sewer and drown them.

Name me a single comic book film villain that threatens kids. All I got is Dafoe's Green Goblin.

LOL! I agree the whole movie was dark beyond belief.

Like the scene where The Penguin bites the dudes nose and is eating a raw fish!!!!!!

I do wonder what would have seen if Burton did a third movie.

I remember being excited as $#it in anticipation for this to come out. I actually recorded this segment of ET,on my VCR just to get a look at the clips from the movie before it dropped. You kids today have no idea what things were like before the internets and your online porntubes! Yeah, we had porn and tubes...but you used them separately (-_-).
