VIDEO GAMES: Side-by-Side Comparison Video Shows Improved BATMAN: RETURN TO ARKHAM Graphics

After being indefinitely delayed, a new comparison video has been released showing the difference between the games on the previous generation of consoles and the remastered Batman: Return to Arkham...

When the first trailer for Batman: Return to Arkham (featuring remastered HD versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and all the DLC) was released, fans pointed out that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions looked worse than the 2009 and 2011 ones. Unsurprisingly, the game lost its release date, but it has now been confirmed that it will reach stores on October 18th.

Does it actually look any better now? It's hard to say. Some characters and environments definitely appear to have improved, while others look better in the original games. Still, for fans of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, chances are that this release will still be a must have. What do you guys think? As always, be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Watch this side-by-side comparison video to see how Batman: Return to Arkham is bringing two of the all-time greatest superhero games out of the shadows as one remastered bundle including all previously released DLC for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 18.

Is it just me or do the characters look worse?

@Dartanian300 - They only do in a few shots, and it's only the faces. It's not as bad as the initial screens made it seem, and the environments are night and day.

@Dartanian300 - I agree. The faces look so bad and weird now. But just like @BackwardGalaxy says, the environment improvements make up for it I think

@BackwardGalaxy - so the environments look noticeably better? I've been trying to decide if I was going to pick this up. I also want the GOTY Arkham Knight game whenever it comes out.

The outside environments look good especially in Arkham City....I like the rain effect on batman in Asylum and batman does look beefier in the remastered version.

Why would someone re-buy a game they already played just because of these de minimis changes?

@blackandyellow - Why would someone read a book they've already read? Or watch a movie they've already seen?

Not everyone keeps their old systems and games.
