When asked were the Nolan helmed Batman franchise currently stands David S. Goyer states "Right now, Chris is involved in filming 'Inception,' and when he finishes that, he will turn his studious gaze back to the Bat universe and we'll see," Goyer told MTV News.

This is a totally familiar tune as every one from Bale to Michael Caine has had this programmed response to the above question.

Is Nolan still attached? Is he not? Following up on these rumors are enough to make any Bat enthusiast go crazy.

if not...sad, but we have a shitbucket full of new movies to come out.

give it time i'd rather Nolan returns and makes a good movie to someone else coming along and screwing it up! At least there are plenty of films being made to fill the gap... I mean we want a good story dont we? not some rushed rubbish?

Supermike, your ability to sound like Bizarro is uncanny.

I won't tire of Nolan's Batman. I think they're great. I won't hold my breath, though. I would absolutley love to see the right treatment give to other core DC characters like GL, Flash, and WonderWoman. Also, a real makeover of Superman with a story and vision that fitting of his caliber. Finally ending up with a hero team-up JLA movie.

I personally hope Nolan says goodbye. I liked the first two Batman movies that he produced, but I have serious doubts about his ability to continue on. Too many personal issues, doubts about his ability to produce, and the absence of a key character... I say start fresh. Stay dark, keep it real, but allow a new vision to come in that COULD incorporate the rest of the DC universe (leading up to a group franchise possibility) without making it hokey, campy, or ridiculous.
And DON'T tell me that it can't be done! Because it can, and if they have any hope for the franchise to continue... IT BETTER!

I think Nolan's a little gunshy about continuing on with the 3rd one because he probably feels that he can't top TDK. I have ideas for him, but I don't mind waiting, so long as we get a quality film. In the meantime, we have many other properties to hold our interests and keep our imaginations occupied. Everyone needs to stop reporting on "Batman 3" until there is something to report! It's turning into the Wetworks of comic book movies!! Enough!
