Editorial: The Buzz Around Affleck Has Been Good For The DCCU.

The last news about the sequel of MoS are keeping the DCCU relevant, which is good because of the limited amount of titles that WB launches from its DC branch.

Ben Affleck has been signed to portray Batman in the upcoming sequel of Superman, yes, it's already old news, but it still generating buzz, what I want to emphasize here it is perhaps the stroke of luck that was the interplay of the fans once given the news, oh boy! Certainly, followed the announcement of the fore mentioned sequel, this news of Affleck kept the DCCU relevant: mad critics, advocates, supporters and jeers from both sides emerged explosively, and the filming is yet to start. However, Affleck has something on his side: the angry fanatics has the idea that he will be a so bad incarnation of Batman that even a mild performance will be seem as wonderful at their eyes. It remains to know who the bad guy will be and who will portrait him. So far, only the news concerning the CW’s series Arrow is the traveling companion of the live action universe of DC characters, it is the only thing that the public get in concrete, the rest is hearsay. Let´s expect more embodied reactions and merciless battles take along the road until 2015 and especially at the end of this, let´s expect a wonderful product from WB.

The reason there has been so much buzz about this subject is because, Ben Affleck is about to take on the role of the best, and most popular character ever created in comics. I mean there's a reason why the Batman series is the 5th highest grossing film series, having earned a total of $1,900,844,295. I see a lot potential in the hiring of Ben, which I'm sure a lot of the Marvel trolls see as well. Which is why they are so negative, and scared towards this news. Marvel trolls know that if Ben hits this role out of the park, DC will not only have their new Batman, but a really good director who could direct many DC films, and pontentially the long awaited Justice League. They are scared of competition, they are afraid of DC's potential to rival or even surpass the MCU, and with a director that is better than Joss Whedon on DC's side I would be too.

I think the bad press all but insures that the DCCU will go backwards. Joss Whedon's enthusiastic support strikes me as a bit odd. He probably thinks this will bury the DCCU and I tend to think it will do just that. Once the Batman/Superman film underperforms it will derail two Superhero franchises AND the Justice League movie. That would leave Marvel with no future competition and DC fans can look forward to another reboot.
