Gary Oldman Suggests That Jim Gordon Will "Have Quite A Bit To Do" With Bane In TDKR

Oldman is at it again! At the Empire Awards last night the actor has once again spilled a few details about Christopher Nolan's upcoming The Dark Knight Rises. This time some fairly revealing ones about his character's screen time with Tom Hardy's..

Oldman says that they shoot in May, and that he has worked with Tom Hardy on The Wettest County, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and now on TDKR, in which he will "have quite a bit to do with Tom" in. He then explains Chris Nolan's method for keeping the ending of the script so secret and finally says "I get a lot to do" when asked if he was excited when reading the script. Then scarpers before he leaks any more info!

Absolute Radio have managed to extract quite a bit of info from Oldman here. Much of it we had heard before, about brining the story full circle and how great the script is, but we now know that Commissioner Gordon will have quite a few scenes with Bane and that Gordon himself will probably feature quite prominently. It's also interesting that Nolan wont even print the ending, and will only tell his actors in person!

Thanks to Absolute Radio for nabbing this, and AICN for brining it to our attention.

Oldman also received the Empire Icon award at the ceremony last night, you can see his acceptance speech here..

The interview guy is good. He tried to get Oldman to reveal more by asking "How could it top the Dark Knight?". Oldman is passionate and serious when he expresses that Nolan has outdone himself. Asking Oldman that question with a hint of doubt was to make Oldman spill more out of defense and excitement. He almost got him.

At the end of the film, Bane ambushes Batman in the Batcave, breaks his back, and then right before he's going to outright kill him, Gordon shows up and riddles him with bullets.

At least, that's what I'd do...maybe with Alfred instead of Gordon.

@marvel72, @stjohnofDC

Not sure how one can assume that Batman keeps DC from producing more of its products.

The issue you should be asking yourself is why can Batman capture (100% - Grif = ) 99% of the comic book audience and also a huge amount of your standard film audience.

My 65, and 67 year old Parents loved TDK, and BB and they can't stand anything else comic book related.

The truth is DC has done a horrible job promoting their other titles. Batman opens the door for other comic book movies as well as keeps audience at least open minded when watching new products.

As long as products like Batman or pulling huge audiences. your complaints should be at DC for not having the balls to move forward with some of their other properties. Batman only shows that the audiences are their and willing to shell out some cash for movies with caped characters.

...........The Ending scene will be this............

Catwoman giving Batman a necklace with a bright green stone.

Batman: Is this a gift?
Catwoman: Keep it. You might need it someday.

...............End Credit Rolls ............
In case they will do a Bat/Supe movie in the future.

@marvel72 Sorry, there's only like 4-5 DC Heroes that deserve movie treatment. Batman isn't slowing any of the other heroes' productions, they're just too boring to care about.

Trust in the Nolan, people! Remember how everyone freaked out when he cast Heath Ledger as the Joker? I'd say that turned out pretty alright, wouldn't you?

we've had seven batman films since 1989.

after nolan leaves batman, what are warner gonna do continue making batman films because they're scared of trying something new or take a chance with someone else that isn't batman or superman.

-wonder woman

all need movie treatment, put batman on the shelf for about five - ten years & try other heroes.

How do Batman films hold back other DC characters from getting films? Batman gets multiple films because he is a popular character with many great stories to tell and they all make a lot of money. Putting Batman on the shelf doesn't mean they are going to make more movies from other characters. Marvel72, please explain your point.

More likely than not, Batman will be lying low this time around. Only a large scale threat will bring him out of hiding. If Gotham City Police want Batman captured, they will need a criminal, or someone with a criminal mind to hunt/apprehend him. I believe Bane will be working along side Commissioner Gordon to stage a terrorist event to bring out Batman. Seeing as Christopher Nolan's last film [Inception] was a bit tricky for audiences.
