Margot Robbie Praises JOKER/HARLEY QUINN Directors And Teases "Messed Up" Love Story

Margot Robbie has weighed in reteaming with Focus directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa for that Joker/Harley Quinn movie and reveals what she's most excited to explore between the two villains...

Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are both expected to return for Suicide Squad 2 and while there's been talk of Gotham City Sirens happening, the status of that movie remains something of a mystery. One project which is currently in the works, though, is a Joker/Harley Quinn spinoff which will reportedly take a deep dive into the twisted relationship between the Clown Prince of Crim and his Puddin'.

Focus helmers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are working on that and will reteam with Robbie for this project. Asked in a recent interview about her excitement to work with them again on the currently very mysterious DC Comics adaptation, the actress said: "They’re great! It’s fun working with a directing duo, and I love them. I’ve obviously done two films with them so I think they’re brilliant."

As for what we should expect from Joker/Harley Quinn, Robbie was understandably coy but did tease some of the elements she's excited to touch on when we get to see these two in action again. "I’m personally a sucker for a love story. In any iteration. I think people enjoy seeing two characters who, in Harley and Joker’s case, would die for one another. It’s kind of romantic in a messed up way."

Suicide Squad delved into how The Joker and Harley got together, so common sense says this movie won't head down that route. What would you guys like to see? Let us know your thoughts below.

There ain't shit about Harley/Joker that's romantic, and putting it in a positive light just enforces abusive relationships.

I can't tell you the amount of couples I've seen who have been all "omGGG he's the Joker to my Harley/she's the Harley to my Joker!" Like. Hon. If you want a quirky couple, go somewhere else. Theirs is an unhealthy and both mentally and physically abusive relationship. They are not "goals", no one should aspire to be like them.

@MikeyL - LoL, i saw an article on why harley quinn is a great role model for small girls.

She is a woman who throw away her career to allow a madman to beat her.

If they wanna make this, go ahead- it's fine by me, but I honestly think this is a bad idea....

I've always at least watched a CBM, even if I wasn't interested or thought it may be terrible. But I won't even watch this if it gets made. Just because of horribly annoying I found Leto's Joker to be. I just wanted to punch him in the face every time he was on screen. Recast and I'll give it a look.

Ugh....Joker doesn't give a shit about Harley. Why can't they just adapt "Mad Love" from Batman TAS.

If done well, it could be a good movie.
But ffs WB, get your main heroes built up first, Flash, Cyborg and GL need their films before we venture out into spinoffs.

Please no more, just leave it alone.

I'm already sick of all the idiot couples dressing up as Joker and Harley Quinn to every fancy address event possible and telling each other "Aww you're my harley" and "you're my joker"

Even worse that literally none of them knew or cared about joker and harley before. absolute cringe

@JakeyChappers - These people saying how much they love Joker and Harley's love and dressing up as them, didn't give TWO [frick]S about them until SS.

You guys forget that they cut out all the scenes of Joker smacking her around from Suicide Squad. So they aren't really highlighting an abusive relationship because they were to scared to present them as abusive in the first place. And then a lot of people only watch the movies so now they get away with it.

Admittedly not ideal.
