My pick for the next Joker to appear on the big screen

My pick for the next Joker to appear on the big screen

This my first editorial, and it shows the actor I think could be the next Joker in the new Batman films, should any be made after the Superman/Batman World's Finest film (that is as yet untitled).

Editorial Opinion

Now, I was watching Luther, Season 2, earlier and whilst watching I came across an actor who I thought would do well in playing the next Joker. If you haven't watched Luther by the way, I recommend you pick it up (even if it has finished) as it's awesome T.V. Anyway back to my editorial. The actor is ...

Steven Robertson

I tried twice to put in a photo, and it failed both times, so if your not too lazy, google him. In Luther, he plays a set of psycho killer twins, who go on the rampage and kill people at the role of a dice, all to score points against one another. Crazy, I know. I've also seen him in another role where again he played a murderer. (see where I'm going?)

This guy is very good at playing evil and sinister characters, and it's from these roles that he could present to us a psychotic, lunatic Joker that, as good as Heath Ledger was in The Dark Knight (which I think is a great film but please, NO FLAME WARS), will follow the origins a little more closely, i.e. The Red Hood, Vat of acid etc.

Thanks For reading.

Peace out.

I think they should continue with the Dark Knight setting and NOT have Joker. What they should do is use the Riddler who is basically a clone of the Joker. The actor that they should use to play the Riddler is Toby Kebbell. It would give him the room to make a character similar to the Joker his own without the guaranteed comparisons to Heath Ledger.

He was excellent in Luther, what a great show. But for me, I would really like to see christian camargo play The Joker. I think he would be excellent in that role.

I think a physical performance from Doug Jones, and a vocal performance from Mark Hamill would be more accepted from the masses. Great pick though! Robertson is a good actor.

I actually want Riddler to team up alongside Luthor in the Batman/Superman movie( Michael C. Hall and Mark Strong are my picks for Riddler and Lex btw).

Save Joker for the batman reboot. Call it Batman: Arkham Asylum. Base it mainly off the video game, and have elements from both the animated series, and the graphic novel.

Bradley Cooper as the Joker. It's unconventional and no one would see it coming. AND he has a wide range when it comes to acting.

Sometimes the actor playing the same type of character in everything he's in doesn't work.

I just want to see the version of the Joker were he has his skin but off and straps it back to his face.

Yes, if Ledger was still alive... The trilogy would be much different.

But I've heard people say Bradley Cooper or Adrian Brody, even heard Cillian Murphy, but no..

Those aren't going to happen.

I'm surprised no one has even said, to my knowledge, Dane Dehaan.

He could easily be The Joker in these revamped movies. Whether it be in JL or new Batmans..

But personally I think it'll be some time before they even choose to do The Joker again.. I mean, Heath's was unheard of and I just imagine they won't do it for awhile.

Although it'd be nice to see. It'd bring a lot of people out to the movies just because of Heath's performance. People have been found to go crazy over that character just as much as Bats.

He's also an actor that can take up different roles.

I mean, Chris Evans was Johnny Storm and now he's Cap.
No one even bats an eye at that.

I'd love to see Hamill have a go at Joker on the big screen.

Actually, Christian Bale would have been a great Joker. I'm not just talking American Psycho, but he has this air of craziness around him, like he'll blow up if asked the wrong question, or if it starts raining. I'm talking during interviews.

To me though, Joker's been done to death. He needs to be in the movies - but only in the capacity that Roxxon Oil is in the MCU. Very much in the background.

Rutger Hauer needs to do the voice of Mr. J in an animated movie. He pretty much already played him in Blade Runner, with Daryl Hannah as his Harley.

Personally, I'd really love for Sean Harris to play the Joker. The guy looks like a complete psychopath.

And thanks to Prometheus, he's not too unknown now.

I think it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early to talk about Joker. The character could appear in Batman solo films starting from 2018 and after.

Steven Robertson. Good choice. He's got those eyes. Looks like the old Jerry Robinson Joker. Good stuff.
My choices?

Adrian Brody

Alan Tudyk

@RedandBlue

It's not like Chris Evans at all. If Tom Strong played Lex Luthor(which I hope he does), then that would be like what Chris did.

Why on earth would he play a role that is so similar to the opposite comic companies character?? That's like if Christian Bale went off and did Daredevil. Wouldn't show much of his range either. Basically, too late dude.

fassbender for joker please. but after JL.

Worlds finest or whatever you want to call it should have 3 villains:
1) Lex Luthor
2) Metallo
3) Deathstroke/Deadshot

first solo bats movie should have whichever one of Deathstroke or Deadshot they do not use, being employed by Black Mask. Killer Croc would be cool too.

last bats movie should be Joker

this is all assuming they dont use nolans verse. which i think they should. But [frick] me right?

I like all your choices Dan! Some are very original, and interesting. I used to only see Craston playing Jim Gordon, but he would an interesting Joker! Sacha Baron Cohen is a cool idea too!! Nice!
