A while back, the box art for the upcoming Batman: Arkham City was released online for the world to see.

Here is the original box art:

As you can tell this isn't the best choice of art they used and afterwards, for unknown reasons, the art work was taken down from the official website.

Now recently, Dutuch retailer known as Gamemania has added the Batman video game to their website with a new and slighty improved cover art.

Here is the possibly new box art:

In my opinion this is definately a better image in compared to the original but seems to still be missing deatail. Of course this is only the box art and also not yet confirmed.

So, what are your thoughts? Is this box art better or worse? Do you think this could be real or even just a region exclusive?

Batman: Arkham City is set to be released October 18th in North America, October 21st in Europe, and October 19th in Australia all for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows as well as the Wii U in 2012.

Might be different box arts for different regions of the world, or for different platforms. If I remember correctly, Assassin's Creed II had a different box art for the computer version, but that's the only example that comes to mind at the moment.

...I do like the "new" art better though.

why should we judge the box art when what matters is the game inside the box

i think you cant go wrong with anyone of them, as long as they keep it black and white i'm a big fan of inverted shades, White & Black world, i like it so much , im buying it for the cover, i'm not going to even play it..... Sike!!

I don't really see much of a difference it makes.

The old box art actually suits a ps3 box. it looks tacky on a 360 box though...

The shades aren't invertid, its most likely some kind of 'ambient occlusion' pass that they thought probably looked like a cool style I guess

They look exactly the same to me, except the second one is cropped.
