RUMOR: Is The Villain Of Batman 3... Killer Croc?

Could the C-List villain be part of the new movie?

Apparently, many clues have pointed some to guess that Killer Croc is the villain of Batman 3.

Here's what /Film had to say:

For the past day, the big buzz on Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film is that the film will shoot next April in Louisiana. The supposition for the Louisiana location, after the previous two films did so much photography in Chicago, is that Warner Bros. loves the tax breaks that helped out Green Lantern when it shot in the state earlier this year.

What if the location also played into the incorporation of a particular character in the story? A Killer Croc might be at home in Louisiana swamps, yes? Let the speculation begin! (It already has; we’re just pushing you to talk about it.)

It started like this: ComingSoon reported that Batman 3 would shoot in April in New Orleans. And then comics writer Mark Millar dropped a pair of tweets that went as follows:

1) Oh, wait. Con gossip: I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale.

2) One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected.

So, Millar (who I don’t often believe to begin with) mentions a non-Gotham locale. This dovetails with the unconfirmed report of New Orleans, which has swamps, and naturally Killer Croc’s name comes up. Totally solid, right? Especially since Killer Croc first appeared in 1983, when Millar would have been 13. Does that count as within the time frame for favorite childhood run in Batman? Maybe.

So, what do you think of Killer Croc for Batman 3?

Wow thats awesome if its true, I really want to see Killer Croc or Bane as a secondary villain on the movie, with the Riddler as the main villain.

not really saying much.
I don't think they will have Killer Croc, but it might be cool if they did. I don't think it would follow the story well. It could happen though

dude! I posted this same theory yesterday, for the same reasons in this article http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/GulfCoastAvengers/news/?a=23594..
As I said there, there is a storyline where Batman chases Croc to Louisiana. Also originally Croc was just a really ugly dude with a skin problem, who killed people by normal means.
I'm glad someone else picked up the clues!

killer croc is sweet but seems a little "far fetched" for nolan.

Croc is too supernatural for Nolan's Batman universe. It should be the Riddler. If you look at each villain and how they've progressed Batman's character then we would need a villain that pushes his detective skills. As that seems like they only thing that hasn't been truly tested.

Millar is an attention whore.

very creatively and "out-side-the-box" type thinking. But still reaching.

I wish New Orleans is really just Metropolis. I dunno just an idea. So then Nolan can connect Batman with Superman. Maybe Batman goes to Metropolis to catch a criminal and we have small easter eggs of Superman. Who knows. Just an idea.

Killer Croc? Highly unlikely.
RyKnow
RyKnow - 10/8/2010, 1:32 AM
Would be good if they used Killer-Croc from Brian Azzarello's Joker graphic novel. But using this character is extremely unlikely. Besides, they're only shooting in Louisiana for tax purposes, chances are it will have no bearing on the story.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Mark Millar doesn't know shit about this film, why would he?
KILLADELFIA
KILLADELFIA - 10/8/2010, 2:25 AM
I find this VERRRRY unlikely and I hope it's not true. Nolan's realistic approach to Batman is what has made his movies the best so far.

If he's not going to put Robin in the film, I'd find it hard to believe that he'd put Croc in it.

I think it's going to be like "The Dark Knight Returns"

jazz@ Agree

This just doesnt sound like what Nolan would do? But maybe Croc is side villain in the story like Scarecrow was?

Talia Ghul, Bane and The Penguin(They can make a realistic version of them) and Two-Face are my choices

@AlexDeLarge666

i doubt he will use Killer Croc they only going to film in Louisiana just for cost cutting for production.

but it makes me wonder that the new Man of Steel are they going to film in Louisiana also.

I believe I started the rumor somewhat joking around a couple days ago (Oct 6th) on another site, using the same speculative theories as Skeletor did. :-P I suggested Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy being they both fit in with the swamp setting.

Regardless of who the villain is, I do hope we get some good cemetery and swamp scenes from New Orleans as they have always played a solid part in Gotham's setting.

Shaman - 10/8/2010, 7:57 AM
Called it on the Millar article. But i hope i'm wrong. Croc would suck in the Nolanverse. Need someone more cerebral.
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 10/8/2010, 8:08 AM
JET1@ Yes, they are shooting in New Orleans because of the tax incentives, but it is not really a stretch of the imagination to consider they would take advantage of the swamps and setting around the Big Easy when they are there shooting. That doesn't mean it is going to dictate who the villain is, but it's always fun to speculate, just like one can speculate about the Riddler being the villain.

THIS IS CHRIS NOLAN, CHRIS NOLAN...

EVERYTHING HAS TO BE BASED IN REALITY IN HIS "GOTHAM"..IF YOU WERE CHRIS NOLAN AND HAD TO BASE KILLER CROC IN REALITY, HOW THE EFF WOULD YOU DO IT?

DEFORMED MAN SUFFERING FROM GIGANTISM AND A LIZARD LIKE DEEFORMITY OF THE SKIN, CIRCUS FREAK THAT FILED HIS TEETH DOWN TO FANGS?..HOW

IDEAS THAT COULD WORK-
THERES A BODY ART TECHNIQUE CALLED SCARRING OR SCARIFICATION, WHAT IF THE GUY SCARRED HIS ENTIRE PERSON?

AND CHECK THIS OUT, THIS GUY WANTED TO DO THIS TO HIS BODY, FILED HIS TEETH, HAD PROTRUSIONS SURGICALLY IMPLANTED INTO HIS HEAD AND HAD HIS TOUNGE SPLIT LIKE A LIZARD

HAVE THIS DONE ON A GIGANTIC MUSCLED UP BEHEMOTH WITH VICIOUS HOMICIDAL TENDENCIES WITH A PENCHANT FOR SADISTIC ACTS, YOU GOT A KILLER CROC

I'd say all you supernatural fantasy loving clowns are creaming your pants to this news....

However, if it does turn out to be true (which I very much doubt) I reckon Nolan will go with the Brian Azzarello take on the character. It's the most realistic and could fit into Nolan's vision.
Shaman
Shaman - 10/8/2010, 9:15 AM
Gunsmith- I'm not saying Nolan can't realityse Croc, if someone can do it, Nolan sure can. But he still can't make him interesting enough for not only a full feature film but especially the end of his epic trilogy. So let's hope this rumor is nothing more than fanboy speculation.

We need a villain with a better drive or purpose. We need someone that will challenge Bruce mentally as much as physically. Croc is just a brute in the end IMO.

THE ONE THING THAT WE CAN COUNT ON IS STORY, THE KIND THAT KEEPS YOU INTRESTED THROUGH THREE HOURS AND MAKES YOU SAY"DAMN THAT WAS GOOD, I WANT MORE" THESE ARE THE KIND OF MOVIES THAT GEEKS OF THE UNIVERSE WILL SPECULATE, SPREAD RUMORS ALL THROUGHOUT THE INTERNET OR HEAR SOMETHING THEN TELL IT IN THE WRONG CONTEXT AND TURN INTO A FRENZY OF "CAN WE COUNT ON THIS INFO OR WHAT?" CRAP.BOTTOM LINE, HELL I FOR ONE AM ANXIOUS TO SEE WHAT THE GUY DOES, THERE ISNT A SECRET STASH OF INFO THAT WILL DIVULGE THE TRUE NATURE OF WHAT NOLAN'S 3RD BATMAN WILL BE ABOUT, IN THE END...I WANT NOLAN'S STORY, WHATEVER HE GIVES US , WHATEVER VILLAIN BE IT CROC OR MR FREAKING MAGOO...IT WILL BE BECAUSE HE ENVISIONED IT HIS WAY AND PUT HIS MAGIC INTO THE STORY. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HE'S GOING TO DO TO SUPERMAN.

umm actually its quite realistic if killer croc just had Harlequin-type Ichthyosis like what they did to reptile in mortal kombat:rebirth here's what i can get off of wikipedia:

Harlequin-type ichthyosis

Harlequin-type ichthyosis (also known as "Harlequin baby,"[1] Harlequin ichthyosis,[1] ichthyosis congenita,[1] Ichthyosis fetalis, keratosis diffusa fetalis, "Harlequin fetus,"[2]:562 and "Ichthyosis congenita gravior"[1]), a skin disease, is the most severe form of congenital ichthyosis, characterized by a thickening of the keratin layer in fetal human skin. In sufferers of the disease, the skin contains massive, diamond-shaped scales, and tends to have a reddish color. In addition, the eyes, ears, penis, and other appendages may be abnormally contracted. The scaly keratin greatly limits the child's movement. Because the skin is cracked where normal skin would fold, it is easily pregnable by bacteria and other contaminants, resulting in serious risk of fatal infection.
The harlequin-type designation comes from both the baby's apparent facial expression and the diamond-shape of the scales (resembling the costume of Arlecchino), which are caused by severe hyperkeratosis. The disease can be diagnosed in the uterus by way of fetal skin biopsy or by morphologic analysis of amniotic fluid cells obtained by amniocentesis. In addition, doctors can now usually recognize common features of the disease through ultrasound, and follow up with 3D ultrasound to diagnose the condition.
