"The Dark Knight", the critically acclaimed box-office smash of 2008 is making it's way to television. "The Dark Knight" will premiere on TNT Saturday, January 22 at 8:00 PM Eastern time. It will also air an encore presentation at the same time on Sunday, the 23rd.

"The Dark Knight", the successful follow-up to "Batman Begins", continues Director Christopher Nolan's story of Batman. In the film, Batman must take on his long time arch-nemesis: The Joker.

The film was nominated for 8 Oscars: Best Supporting Actor-Heath Ledger (Won), Best Cinematography, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Make-Up, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing (Won), and Best Art Direction.

Heath Ledger died in January of 2008, due to an accidental overdose of sleeping pills. The ending credits pay homage to Ledger, in what is strongly considered his best role.

"The Dark Knight" stars:
Christian Bale-Bruce Wayne/Batman
Heath Ledger-The Joker
Michael Caine-Alfred Pennyworth
Aaron Eckhart-Harvey Dent
Gary Oldman-Jim Gordon
Maggie Gyllenhaal-Rachel Dawes
Morgan Freeman-Lucius Fox
Eric Roberts-Sal Maroni
Nestor Carbonell-Mayor Garcia
Chin Han-Lau
Cillian Murphy-Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow
William Fichtner-Bank Manager

"The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, that dawn is coming."-Harvey Dent

Geez, I need to move out of America. TNT is a somewhat big channel in America. They play reruns of shows like "CSI: New York", "Bones", "Angel", "Charmed" and they also play NBA games and NASCAR races. They play some movies on the weekends. But it takes at least 2 1/2 to 3 years until a movie plays on TV. how long after a movie comes out does it take to play on network TV in your respected countries?

@runDTC here in Brazil TNT only play movies, all day long, but it's not one of the best. It takes about 2 years after a movie comes out to play on TV, although they haven't shown TDK yet..

foreigner bashing is not cool. Yes this is front page worthy cause In america we have this thing called NETWORK telivision which means the lower class of America can watch it without having to fork over money for HBO or digital cable which is pretty gay. Its about time it came to network. Double Feature!!! Waiting for the triple feature!!!
