Here are a few excerpts from the guys over at
GamePro who were lucky enough to get to see the game in action at a recent pre-Game Developers Conference held by Microsoft. For more, be sure to follow the link over to the site by clicking below!
•The demo portion covered a part of the game we've heard a lot about: Catwoman's "execution" at the hands of Two-Face.
•The rescue sequence concluded with Joker taking a potshot at Catwoman with a sniper rifle from somewhere else in the massive city of Arkham. The developer used Batman's Detective Mode to trace the bullet trajectory and then he went to investigate Joker's whereabouts.
•To avoid spoilers, I'll just say a church tower blew up and Batman can now bust through windows in truly epic getaway fashion.
•Even though that dialogue between Catwoman and Two-Face was painfully cheesy, the core gameplay looks like the Arkham Asylum I loved with new gadgetry and attacks.
•Batman can use radio frequencies to eavesdrop on enemies for clues and hack certain frequencies to track other people. He also has a new "Beatdown" attack where players can guard-break an enemy with a flurry of punches.
•The citywide gliding also looks fun; the developer was able to grapple onto a passing helicopter and then glide to completely different part of the city.
Batman: Arkham City is set to be released sometime later this year!
