BATMAN V SUPERMAN: Three Things You May Have Missed

I noticed something (well actually three things) from the Comic-Con trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.  While you may have noticed them, I just wanted to bring them up and share some theories.  So here they are:

1:  Joker Killed Robin in Wayne Manor.

Okay, so we all remember this shot from the trailer for sure:

Well, there's three things about this suit:  It's burnt, it's covered in graffiti, and it's holding a staff.  And if you remember, Wayne Manor seems to have gotten blown to pieces in the trailer...

And if you remember the first trailer, we had this shot as well:

So here it is:  Wayne Manor seems to have been burnt in the exterior shot of the second trailer.  In the first trailer there is a shot of a burnt up building covered in grafiti, and Batman looking down and holding a staff.  So it seems reasonable to assume that there is a scene where Batman has a flashback to Jason Todd's death, discovering his body in the burnt up remains of Wayne Manor.

Whether or not this means we'll see the actual death in this movie or Suicide Squad remains unknown, as well if Joker know's Batman's identity, as he could have just broken into Wayne Manor to kill Bruce Wayne or something.  Who knows right now...

2:  Lex Luthor is Sick

This one has less reason behind it because there is just one shot in the trailer, but bear with me, as this is a movie, where the smallest details can mean the biggest things.  We all know the shot where Lex Luthor is looking at the kryptonite.

Well, there is an earlier scene that tell's me that Lex Luthor may be getting sick from that kryptonite, it's a very small detail, but it's there.  And it could be a very big plot point and even lead to him losing his hair.  It's all in the scene where Superman is kneeling down at Luthor's feet.

I noticed this when I saw the trailer on a big screen, and didn't notice many people pointing it out, but look at Lex's hand.  It seem's to be bandaged.  And this is movie land, where things like that must serve a purpose for the story.  They wouldn't bother to have Lex's hand bandaged without there being a purpose, even if Jesse Eisenberg had cut it off camera and required it to be stitched up, they would have to have something to explain that.

3:  The Soldiers Aren't Honoring Superman; They're Guarding Him

Finally, the last thing I noticed is about the soldiers with the Superman crest.  There have been many theories about them, so here is mine: they are more like prision guards to hold Superman.

Here's why: in the scene where Superman is kneeling to Luthor, it appears they are underground.

Perhaps in the same bunker where the guards are "kneeling" to Superman?

That does not look like an army bunker, it looks more like a prison.  So I think they aren't bowing out of loyalty, but out of fear.  There are rumors that Luthor is planning to capture a bunch of metahumans in the movie, so maybe he snagged his number one prisoner?  Superman definetly didn't look happy to be there...

As well, this may explain Batman fighting the soldiers.  He may be trying to break Superman out of the prison.  Perhaps I'm wrong, but that would be an explaination for this scene:

Well, that's what I saw.  Did you notice anything odd in the trailer for Batman v Superman?  Comment below!

I completely disagree with the wayne manor part. Why would Wayne Manor have those huge columns or a skylight? And why would it have all the graffiti especially the noticeable Riddler question mark? Do you really think Bruce would want/let people especially the Riddler mark the location right above his Batcave? And also, do you really think Batman would let the Joker burn down not only Wayne Manor, but with Robin inside as well? If anything Wayne Manor was just left to rot after he hung up the cowl.

Well I like the part of Laurence Fishburne. The way he said "Nobody cares.. Clark Kent taking on THE BATMAN".

@caseyhaney

A) The columns, yes. It's an old mansion that is used for parties, there can be columns, as part of the old decoration. The skylight could be helicopters which would arrive if Wayne Manor was burnt to the ground.
B)The joker could have painted all of that. And just because theres a question mark doesn't mean its riddler, it could be an easter egg, but could just be joker celebrating. He did spray paint the robin costume...
C) In Jason Todd's death, Batman was distracted by another event. Thus, he may not have allowed it to happen if he was there, but he wasn't, which is why he's Batman's greatest failure.
D) Villains have invaded Wayne Manor before, doesn't mean they find the batcave, which bruce usually doesn't leave open to be found...
E) Leaving a home to rot does not burn it to the ground.

These are excellent points, especially the first and the last theory; really really good.

@RobinHood Thank you for that. Much aporeciate.

Your first theory is also supported by the anonymous newspaper Bruce is sent in the paper that says 'How could you let your family die?', which likely was sent by The Joker due to the style of it, meaning the Joker knows Bruce Wayne is Batman and thus likely has been to Wayne Manor before.

I disagree with your third point for a number of reasons that they are prison guards trying to keep Superman locked up.

1. They have Superman's S crest on their shoulders. I can't think of a single instance in the real world or fiction where guards have the crest of their prisoner on their uniforms while guarding them.

2. That isn't Batman trying to rescue Superman that is him trying to stop them. In the trailer you specifically see a scene where these guys are gunning down what look like civilians. At the 2:40 mark of the trailer you see them gunning people down.

I believe these guys are a paramilitary group "following" Superman. Like a reverse of the Sons of Batman from the TDKR comic but here the Sons of Superman. A group of people who follow Superman trying to make the world a better place by wiping out evil by any means necessary. Probably though they are mercenaries paid by Luthor or mislead by him to discredit Superman even more by plastering his symbol all over their terrible crimes.

It's not burnt to the ground, it's clearly a Riddler mark, Joker would have had to go back to Wayne Manor and spray paint it after he burnt it down which wouldn't make any sense, I'm not saying Joker would find the Batcave but I don't think Bruce would just let him barge in then torture and ultimately kill Jason Todd

The last point is a verrrry good theory. I can see it happening.

Yeah because underground prisons have skylights.

I dont think those soldiers are guarding Superman for one mai reason.

When it shows a close up of that soldier shooting his gun he has a Superman emblem on his arm as part of his uniform. Its safe to assume they all do. They are clearly working WITH Superman.

Also, why would prison guards bow down to their prisoner like that?

I assumed it was some sort of remote prison to hold Superman's bad guys (like Lian Yu) and Batman was breaking out...

I really doubt that these soilders are working with Superman but rather take up his insignia to justify their agenda. Much like the Sons of Batman in The Dark Knight Returns. Having Superman align himself with an army would defeat the purpose of him trying to prove himself as Earths protector.

Cool article

But, I'm not doing this for these movies

I want to be completely surprised in the Theatre, same for Suicide Squad

My goal, is [frick] speculation, I'm positive I'll enjoy it more that way, I've waited too long for these movies
