The fact that Cyborg is getting his own movie is a great step forwards when it comes to diversity in superhero movies, but that didn't stop fans being genuinely shocked when it was announced as part of Warner Bros.' DC Comics slate! As it turns out, they weren't the only ones who were surprised when the press release hit. It seems that little known stage actor Ray Fisher - who will play Victor Stone on the big screen - didn't realise what he was signing up for either, but he's definitely happy about it. "I didn’t know the extent to which DC and WB had planned on taking my character. When I signed on, I just wanted to be part of this world. But that specific information, I found out then and there. I didn’t think I’d be getting my own stand-alone film."
He may not have any movie credits, but Fisher (who fielded Star Wars Episode VII offers at one point) has gained acclaim as a veteran of the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey, especially after gaining nearly 20lbs of muscle to play Muhammad Ali in Broadway play Fetch Clay, Make Man last year. Confirming that he's already finished shooting his role which is thought to be just a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Fisher tells EW that he did get to meet Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ben Affleck (Batman) on set, along with Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor). That doesn't mean he actually shot any scenes with them of course, but his comments do confirm what we've known all along: Aquaman will indeed be in this movie.
"I met everyone in the Justice League except Henry Cavill and Ezra Miller," Fisher revealed. "It was surreal. You get this idea of going to work on a Hollywood set as being really stressful and nerve-wracking. But it blew that stereotype away. If they did have stressful times, it wasn’t while I was there." Confirming that he'll appear in both Justice League movies, the actor was then asked about what fans should expect from Zack Snyder's take on this team of heroes. "Let me tell you, man," Fisher said with a laugh, "people are in for a hell of a treat." What do you guys think?
