Recently Marvel and DC have been back and forth with breaking news. I do not want to get in to the debate of who's winning because honestly I don't give two. I'm just happy to be a fan in this wonderful time for comic book movies. So much of a fan that I've been theorizing on these movies since they were announced, Marvel and DC. Since I've had a little more time to think about the DC films and already had ideas for a lot of the movies they announced, I'm going to give my opinions, ideas, and speculation for the DCCU before the MCU. Don't be surprised if you see an MCU article from me in the future though!
Keep in mind, I don't necessarily think all of these ideas will happen, but believe that a lot of them should or at least would be cool to see. Sit back, relax, and don't take an opposing idea/opinion as an attack on yours, but as a reason for you to express your ideas in the comment section (not by attacking me either). But I can't control you or what you type so...that was pointless and wasted my time. Meh, whatever. No need to delete it now.

“[The movie] literally takes the ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Batman’ universes and explodes them. You’re not as tied to the mythology. In ‘Man of Steel,’ we had to create an origin story, a mythology, and there’s a lot of energy into that, which we love doing. Don’t get me wrong. But when you think about how fun it is to — now that you’ve got these characters — to now let ‘em loose. That’s fun!” - Zack Snyder
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been the subject of controversy. Beginning with the casting of Ben Affleck, everything big has flared up and died down. The haters are still there for most conflicts, but ultimately there has been less wide spread hate for this movie as of late and it's beginning to look a little brighter. This movie needs to set up the universe in a big way. This is the jumping off point for the DCCU. There are so many characters and stories involved it will take a great cast and crew to handle it. Luckily I believe that they have that.
The story should focus on Superman and Batman, but there is a lot of room for cameos and supporting roles in the film that could set up the DCCU later. It's been rumored and partly confirmed that BvS will feature all (if not most) of the Justice League in some form. People say that this is provides for an overly crowded movie, but they forget that this could mean that the extent other JL characters show up is a still picture of them after the movie. Now that's most likely not going to happen, but based on what's been confirmed it could happen.
Since the events of "K Day", as the public calls it, Clark Kent/Kal-El has began to work with the government to gain the trust of the public, though this hasn't completely worked. The public still doesn't trust him completely. This includes Batman. Batman has ruled the nights of Gotham for YEARS now. Partners have come, all have gone in some way or another, and he's getting older. Despite this, his operation in Gotham has become a little bit more noticeable, especially since anything (or anyone) odd is questioned as being alien or at least metahuman now. The government begins to see Batman as a dangerous metahuman who needs to be stopped, showing how good he is as being covert and mysterious. They send Superman in to the situation (like they always do) believing that Batman won't have the courage to stand up to Superman. They were wrong about that, but right when they believed Superman would kick his @$$. At this point Batman sees what Superman doesn't. Superman is a pawn of the government and Batman needs to stop this before he's used as a super weapon against the U.S's enemies. With all of this happening, other countries questioning if Superman should serve the U.S. versus the entire world, the rising of more metahumans, and a billionaire who's helping the people who employed Superman with a plan to destroy him, we're in for one heck of a movie.
Lois and Clarks relationship is explored in this film. How? By basically saying their isn't one. They are still friends, as Clark doesn't want her to get angry at him and expose his secret, but Lois isn't interested romantically. She says that what happened on K-Day was purely because her emotions flared up due to him saving her. Emotions do that in times of peril, stress, and other extreme states of mind. She does actually see something in Clark, but doesn't want to be attached to him, it being dangerous for her. Also their relationship would lead to people asking about her and Superman (as people saw the kiss) and it would make it easier for people to make the Clark - Superman connection.
The movie would feature two battles between Superman and Batman, the first Superman winning, and the second being the one featured at the end of the trailer, which ends up like the fight in TDKR; though this isn't the finale. The final battle takes place in Metropolis between Superman and Bizarro, Batman and Lex Luthor (equipped with a mech-suit), and Wonder Woman vs Mercy Graves (part cyborg). These fights would take place at the same time, though the big one would be Superman vs Bizarro. Bizarro is a partly failed attempt by Luthor at making a Kryptonian from an egg left in the scout ship at the end of MOS. Superman successfully beats Bizarro without destroying hardly any of Metropolis. Saving the city from a rampaging monster, dressed in the tattered and dirty clothes of a dead Kryptonian general they've seen before, has it's perks. Superman tries to defeat Bizarro without killing him. Superman ends up knocking Bizarro out and placing him in a room in the Fortress of Solitude that simulates the atmosphere of Krypton. Bizarro wakes up in the chamber, in restraints. Since his powers don't work, he cannot escape and is imprisoned. Batman beats Luthor, but Luthor isn't exposed as the creator of Bizarro or for any of his other bad actions. He walks away clean.
Superman reveals to the world that the government set up a secret division devoted to metahuman research and taking out Superman. The people protest the government and the government promises to shutdown the section of the government that did this, CADMUS. This puts Amanda Waller out of a job, but the president offers her job at a new division of the government that they're creating called ARGUS. She's reluctant to except and the president tells her to think about it. Before she leaves he gives her a file and says that it details ARGUS' first operation. She leaves the white house and gets in her car before she opens it. On the front page it says "TASK FORCE X"....

"I wouldn't have guessed that it would have been one of the properties that they would do quite so quickly. That's a heck of a slot. It's the first movie after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That places them pretty high and sure, that pleases me." - John Ostrander
Suicide Squad is a very interesting opportunity for Warner Bros/DC. This movie could show them many things and give them many things.
-
This could be DC's answer to Guardians of the Galaxy. Sure the tones of these films would be totally different, but it still could draw parallels to the movie. For one they're introducing a whole set of new characters in this movie that won't appear in BvS. I originally had Deadshot in my BvS, but I didn't want any of these heroes to be introduced before this movie. Guardians (being the 3rd most successful Marvel film yet) proved that you don't need to introduce CBM characters in solo movies before teaming them up.
-
It'll show them how much just there name is worth. If Guardians of the Galaxy didn't have the Marvel name on it, it probably wouldn't have done very well at the box office. All of my non comic book loving friends would come to me and say "What's Guardians of the Galaxy? Why is Marvel making this movie? It looks so weird!", but if it didn't have the Marvel name they wouldn't have asked in the first place and be convinced to go see the film. BvS will surely be a juggernaut and if they have the right Marketing team could even top Avengers. If it's also good, then that will probably persuade people to go see Suicide Squad, but if it's more mixed (or bad) DC would need to know how much just there name could get people to see a film. Of course they'll capitalize off of Joker being in the film, but the Joker isn't going to pull in all of the needed crowds.
-
With the line up they have, it'd be a great way to branch off in to other parts of the DCCU. Deadshot could basically go almost anywhere, Harley Quinn and Joker in to the Batman side, Captain Boomerang to the Flash movies, and Enchantress to Dark Universe.
The movie centers around Floyd Lawton/Deadshot, but the main characters are him, Harley, the Joker and Rick Flag. However, these aren't the only big guys in the story. We also have Amanda Waller at the head of them running everything with an iron fist. Other more expendable characters will be introduced and killed in this film. El Diablo (Jay Hernandez) is an example of this.
The Joker would be very akin to Hannibal Lecter in this film. He has one big scene in the film between him and Rick Flag, Amanda Waller, or Deadshot. They try to get information out of him. The scene would showcase the new Joker (we would get views but not clear shots in the trailer) fully and give us some exposition on his history with Batman.
The Joker's voice has been something us fans have been raving about a lot. In this film, his voice would change a lot. In the middle of a sentence he'd go from high pitched to super deep like he does in the first Vine video we went bananas over. This would also provide us with a great oppurtunity to pay homage to past Jokers. He might sneak in a one sentence impression of some past Jokers or take on their mannerisms or tone for mid monlogue. His laugh could even change and mimic some other laughs in different situations.
Onslaught is the antagonistic organization in this film. One of the members of the team is Slade Wilson/Deathstroke. Seeing as this Deathstroke is young, he's just begun to make a big name for himself within the past few years. No one knows who he is, and he has been given the name Deathstroke. He joins Onslaught temporarily, as his specialty is taking out metahumans. He really joins Onslaught, because he knows Amanda Waller is trying to stop them, and he wants revenge. Slade was one of the soldiers that was believed to have died in a military experiment by CADMUS (which was under Amanda Waller's control) to make them superhuman. He is the only survivor, unkown to the world, and he wants revenge on Waller for screwing over his life. Though he is more powerful and smart, he can't go back to his old life. Plus he doesn't have a right eye anymore.
Onslaught is trying to kidnap the Enchantress for uknown reason, but it's assumed because of her enormous power levels. The Squad doesn't know who the buyer is, but he must be offering big money as they aren't killing their target for the first time. Waller has had her eyes on Enchantress too, and wants to make sure she's safe, so that Waller can use her.
In the end, Onslaught attacks the Squad at Arkham Asylum where they're keeping Enchantress. She's being stored on an underground floor with a bunch of other VERY dangerous criminals and weirdos (Killer Croc, Joker, Blockbuster, and more). This leads to an epic finale featuring the Squad, Onslaught, several DCU Villains that were imprisoned at Arkham, and the Caped Crusader himself, operating in the shadows before having a ehated battle with Joker (who he hasn't seen since having Jason Todd murdered and Barbara Gordon crippled (which happened in the same day in this universe)).
After this battle Deadshot would question why Waller basically led them to Arkham, a place full of dangerous cirminals and psychopaths. Her reasoning is because Batman won't kill them so she will. The battle took out several of the criminals, and she'll use the Squad to get the ones who escaped. Deadshot goes a step further with, "They all escaped!" She respond with "You're still here aren't you?" and walks out of the door. This sets up the next solo Batman movie, where Deadhsot will be trying to kill whoever Batman is trying to stop. So Batman will have to protectt he villain while also trying to apprehend them.
The movie would conclude with Amanda Waller in her office at her desk when an ARGUS agent runs in and tells her that they've detected alien activity coming in on earth. They take her to the extraterrestrial threat facility of ARGUS (on the way passing by many of the things the Government promised to get rid of in BvS) and she sees the signals coming from the satellites they set up. There is an ARMADA of ships approaching earth. One of the ARGUS agents asks Waller what they should do. The camera slowly zooms in on her face before we slam to something that looks like this.

"She has unbelievable endurance. She is exceptionally strong. She can jump really high and practically fly. She knows tons of martial art styles. She is a strong and serious woman." - Gal Gadot
After the events of BvS, the rest of the world officially knows of Diana and Themyscira. The Themyscirans are very upset about this, but acknowledges the situation. They decide to send an ambassador over with Diana. Not even a day in to their arrival, the other ambassador is shot and killed on U.S. soil. This causes the Themyscirans to declare war on the United States. Diana is still perplexed by this, but accepts the fact that she has to follow her homeland in to battle. Before she does fight though, she gets a supernatural message. The message reveals the truth to the situation, Ares killed the Amazonian ambassador. Ares influenced Hippolyta to start the war, and he's influencing the U.S. to go head first in to it. She tries to explain this to her Mother, but she won't believe it. Diana sees that no one believes her and decides to secretly leave Themyscira for America. She gets their and asks her friend Steve Trevor to help her find Ares and stop him from taking this any further.
The quest she goes on with Steve Trevor would feel very much like a classic myth from Greek mythology. In reality it's the classic heroes journey template, but it also has the vibe of a Greek Myth. With monsters, killers, and obstacles from the villain coming at the hero and her partner left and right. It only differs in one matter. That is that it adapts the non linear storytelling from Man of Steel. Though the story described above is focused on the most, we would also see flashbacks to Diana's childhood.
The background storyline would show a young 14-15 year old Diana training with Ares, like in the Wonder Woman zero month issue. Not even this story would be told in a linear fashion throughout the film. We'd get bits and pieces hear, bits and pieces there, and by the end of the movie we'd be able to piece together a linear story as if it were a short film based on the issue.
(the following scenes are described in linear order, not the order that would be presented in the film)
Scene One: We open up with a teenaged Diana climbing the side of a cliff, over the ocean. At the top of the cliff lies a nest. In the nest, are eggs the size of Diana's head. As she steps into the giant nest, a Harpy dives straight for Diana. She screams at Diana and tells her to drop the egg. Diana drops the egg over the edge of the cliff and Harpy shoots after it. She takes one of the other eggs and jumps off of the side. The Harpy catches the first egg and then flies for Diana. The Harpy almost catches Diana in her talon, but Diana drops into the sea. The Harpy squawks in anger and flies back up to the nest. Diana swims to an underwater cave and up to the surface of the cave where her mother and other Amazonians wait for her. She presents to them the Harpy's egg and they cheer for the young princess, who has passed the test. In the shadows of the cave is a strange man dressed in vulture and helmet with ram horns that covers most of his face, and a long beard.
Scene Two: The next scene begins with Hippolyta visiting the training fields where young Amazonians spar. Aleka, an Amazonian the same age as Diana, asks Hippolyta to watch her and Diana spar. Diana is reluctant, but does it for her mother. Aleka goes all out on Diana, something Diana's not expecting, causing Diana to ramp it up as well. Diana brings Aleka to the ground. She places the tip of her (wooden) sword at Aleka's neck and tells her to yield. Aleka shouts "NEVER!" Diana then says "Yield, and show Themyscira that you are not yet the warrior you believe yourself to be!" Aleka retorts "I may not be one now, but you will never be one, CLAY!" She throws a chunk of the ground in Diana's eyes, referencing Diana's creation. This causes Diana to become VERY angry, and show her true strength. As Aleka attempts to attack Diana while she's vulnerable, Diana grabs Aleka's sword and chucks it 10s of feet behind her. She tackles Aleka to the ground and slams her sword on Aleka's head so hard that the wooden sword splits in half. She proceeds to punch Aleka in the face, breaking her nose, before other Adult
Amazonians pull Diana away. Diana looks at what she has done and runs away in to the forest.
Scene Three: Diana is in the middle of the forest, kneeling by a lake. She's weeping, asking the gods why she is the way she is. Why is she different? That's when the man from scene one appears
behind her and says "Being different is not a curse, but a gift." Diana is startled and jumps backwards, away from the man in to the lake. "That is the first thing we'll work on." the man says. "Who are you?" She asks "Little one I be an Olympian. I be the settler of dispute. I be blood.
I be guts. I be iron. I....be....WAR!!!!" Diana pauses and then realizes
"Ares...?" Ares goes on to tell her that he wants to train her to be a warrior, in a way only a God could. Every full moon Diana would train with Ares. They walk off deeper in to the woods, to begin their first training session.
Scene Four: This scene is a montage of almost a years worth of training for Diana. We get a glimpse of Diana carrying large trees to the top of large hills, meditating and strengthening her spirit, sparring with Ares, praying to the gods, doing forms of martial arts, throwing javelins, working with a lasso, and sprinting around the island.
Scene Five: This scene showcases a battle
"to the death" between Diana and Ares. Ares wins and as he stands over her with his sword pointed down she says "I'm ready to die by your hands" Ares picks her up and says
"A warrior must know that death is the price of war, but a warrior will never accept death. A warrior fights to the death. But not tonight."
Scene Six: A year has passed and in their twelfth learning session, Ares tasks Diana with going in to a cave and retrieving the treasure deep inside. He says there'll be various obstacles and traps in her way. She takes on the challenge as she needs to have something to present to her mother (it being her birthday). Diana ties her lasso the front so that she can find her way out in case she gets lost. She goes through and comes across no traps, obstacles, or treasure. After a while she becomes reluctant and almost gives up when she hears something from around the corner. She turns the corner to find a large room in which the
Minotaur stays. The Minotaur charges for Diana and they have a great battle. Diana wins, flattening the monster out on the ground. Ares appears and tells Diana to finish the Monster by cutting it's head off, she doesn't. She says she can't kill it like this. Ares becomes furious
"So be it! Thou art my GREATEST failure Diana of Themyscira! The path thou hast chosen, now thou shall walk alone" Ares goes away in a cloud of smoke. The smoke fades and the Minotaur is back up, looming above a defenseless Diana. The 10 foot beast looks her in the eyes and then walks away in to the Labyrinth. Diana quickly gets her Lasso and leaves the cave.
Each scene would serve a purpose in the story. The first scene would help build Diana's character. Show that she's been the way she is for her entire life. A strong willed, brave girl/woman. The second scene would be in a time of rest, meditation, or just thinking. She'd be asking why she was so different from the other Themyscirans. While she questions her origins. Why did the gods have to bless her with so many gifts. Why did they choose Diana? The third scene would happen when Diana figures out that Ares is behind all of the conflict in the film. She has a history with Ares that no one but him and her no about. That's why she feels she needs to be the one to stop him. The fourth scene would play during her journey as she thinks about Ares and their history. The fifth scene would play during her final battle with Ares. We'd switch in and out between that battle, and the battle at hand. The sixth scene would play during a very important scene, introducing a very important character. War's greatest success, Nubia.
"(summarized information) Nubia was created in the Silver Age of comics from 1950s-1970s where many of our core superheroes we all know and love really shined, but one must think “hmm isn’t this everyone’s silly excuse not to have skin change because many of our heroes we love shined in this age?” Well lets see, both Diana and Nubia were formed from light and dark clay by the Goddess Aphrodite having Nubia shaped as a twin of Diana. Sadly though as a baby, Nubia was stolen by Ares. Growing up, Ares trained Nubia to be his warrior giving her a special ring to keep her mind clouded." - Evan Lee
That's right. Diana had twin sister that was black because of darker clay being used. She was an "enemy" of Diana and always was on par with her. After Crisis on Infinite Earths, Nubia became Nu'Bia. An Amazon that won the same tournament Diana did BEFORE her (making her the first Wonder Woman). She was tasked with guarding Doom's Doorway and will remain there. She was not an enemy of Diana or her twin, but was her older sister. Nubia eventually just became an alternate earth version of Diana in the Multiversity.
The Nubia presented in this film would be an amazonian who disappeared at a young age. Hippolyta was fond of her and treated her as a daughter of her own, as she couldn't give birth to a child. Other Amazonians didn't like Nubia because of her being favored and treated her poorly. She was promised by War that she could become the most powerful Amazonian on Themyscira, and that she could pay back her doubters, if she began to train with him. What started off as monthly training became Nubia running away with Ares, and staying with him. Ares thought it was ideal to have two apprentices/servants so he set his eyes on Diana, but that didn't pan out like he had hoped. In an ideal world, Diana and Nubia would be like Gamora and Nebula to Thanos.
Diana would eventually open Nubia's mind to the evils of Ares and she'd help Diana stop him in the final battle. Afterwards Ares would be imprisoned on Themyscira, in Dooms Doorway, and Nubia takes it upon herself to guard the doorway to make sure he doesn't get out or nothing gets in.
In this film, the gods would be portrayed in a way they never have before. The gods, while technically being ancient aliens, they wouldn't just be humanoid people with powers from another planet. They'd be from another dimension. Being 4th dimensional beings, in their natural form, theydon't appear to humans. When they came to earth in Ancient times, they came in their 3rd dimensional forms, some taking more human-like ones than others. There powers would not try to be explained in detail as far as Thor has gone and will still be treated as magic though. This is because no human could comprehend the physics, chemistry, and biology that comes along with these beings. Hera (to the right) is an example of a more human form, while Hermes (
at this link) is an example of a more alien form.
The last scene would show us a throne room where Hera, Olympian goddess/wife of Zeus, resides. She has a monologue where she talks about how she's disappointed in her sons failure to kill the "little brat". It's explained that Hera wants Diana dead, because she's the product of one of Zeus' many affairs. She says something along the lines of
"Never place a man in a woman's role." and she goes on to say that it'll take complete utter chaos for her to be stopped, and that's when
chaos herself walks in.

"All these characters are bigger than all the directors that ever dealt with them...Batman will still be around in 100 years. Superman will still be around in 150 years...It’s such a cultural thing...That’s the reality." - Junkie XL
This is the big one. JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!!!!!! In case you couldn't tell from the cliffhanger ending of Suicide Squad, the villain of this film is Brainiac. No I didn't just get this idea from the rumors, this was my plan before hand. Brainiac is the perfect villain for the first Justice League movie. He's a formidable villain that you could take a few liberties with so that he can fit to your universe perfectly. He's definitely not the League's biggest opponent, but could definitely provide them with a challenge, he's something we haven't seen in the CBM (even after Ultron), but most importantly it could establish a connection with us watching in the real world.
Brainiac is technology. As a race, in large part, we are all sinking in to a sand pit of technology, some faster than others. And that's not necessarily a bad thing either, but it does have downsides as well. Brainiac could take these downsides and take them to an extreme. People are scared of Google taking information from there accounts and what they search, Brainiac takes EVERYTHING on your computers and phones. People think the NSA are spying on them, at least that could be for security reasons, Brainiac would be spying on you so he could harvest everything you know and then use it against you, for your death.
The line up would be the one seen above, but with one minor change. Hal Jordan wouldn't appear. The Lantern would be John Stewart. John will say that he's not the only Green Lantern and will mention that Hal is off in space on a mission with a group of other Lanterns. It's stated to that they are searching for an unresponsive Lantern who they believe has done something horrible (a nod to Sinestro).
Towards the beginning Brainiac would send down scout drones. The heroes could easily take out these robots, but they were sent to fully analyze the heroes' abilities and tactics. Though only Flash, Superman, and Batman would fight them. Cyborg not yet being created, John Stewart being on Oa, while Aquaman and Wonder Woman are in Atlantis and Themyscira, respectively. Flash, Batman, and Superman would try to get to the bottom of the drones together, but couldn't find an answer. That's when Green Lantern steps in and helps. He concludes they're from the alien Brainiac with the aid of his ring. That's when a wave of energy hits the earth. A large EMP from space temporarily wipes out all electricity and electronics on earth. A global blackout. However, in not too long all of the power comes back up, but odd things have happened. In the middle of the pacific an island pops up, at the bottom of the ocean a civilization appears, above a Greek mountain a floating city has appeared, and a large diamond shaped rock appears and disappears over the Himalayas.
(NOTE: These places are Themyscira, Atlantis, Olympus, and the Rock of Eternity. These places were put in to pocket universes by the gods. The EMP overrides the god's tech (As they are "aliens") and pushed these places back in to the real world. Doors to Atlantis and Themyscira had been opening and closing since the World Machine activated in Man of Steel. That's how WW made it in to our world. The rock of eternity moves in and out because the door was harder to open. The gods didn't want the 7 deadly sins out in to the world.)
This permanently brings Wonder Woman and Aquaman in to the real world (and gives Shazam an opportunity). Because of this Orin (Aquaman) confronts Superman. He blames him and his people for opening the portal in the first place, now that the portal is non-existent and that his world has been brought fully in to ours, he goes to Superman again. Diana (Wonder Woman) simply doesn't know what's going on and consults Batman and Superman, the two metahuman heroes she's acquainted with. This is how the Justice League forms, excluding Cyborg. Victor's (Cyborg) origins are told in this movie. The accident that causes him to become Cyborg happens during an act of heroism.
Before we get in to that, let's give a backdrop to the situation. Orin returns to the sea after a fight with Clark, but Diana stays for a little bit. A few days later Aquaman returns looking for Clark, Bruce, Diana, John, and Barry; who have been trying to find the source of the drones and the EMP. Aquaman says that a large monster from the sea is heading for Metropolis. "It looks like a giant starfish" he says.
(NOTE: Yup. Starro.)
The heroes assemble in Metropolis just in time to greet the monster. They try to fight it, but they seem to have no sense of teamwork.
Victor is driving through downtown Metropolis when the battle breaks out. He gets out of his car and begins to run. He sees a little girl who runs in to the line of sight of the laser-shooting monster to get her dropped doll. He runs in and pushes her out of the way, but the laser hits half of his body. Barry sees this happen and runs in. He recognizes Victor from STAR Labs earlier in the film. He remembers that his father worked there and dashes for STAR Labs. He runs back and regroups the team. He tells them to look around at the people that are being injured and even killed and stresses the fact that they have to work together. They quickly form a basic plan and execute it, drawing Starro in to the sea and then destroying him. Starro was sent from Brainiac.
The movie's climax consists of Brainiac's invasion where he attempts to capture and take Themyscira, Atlantis, and Metropolis. He does this by setting up pillars at 4 points around the city/country. They're placed in the form of a rhombus. The pillars take a certain amount of time to boot up, so a group of Brainiac's drones surround each one to protect it. Once they activate, the pillars create a connected wall between them and then the wall rises up, encompassing the area they surround. The heroes try to stop this process.
Superman and Green Lantern go in to space and try to take out Brainiac, but have to get through his armada first. Batman and Wonder Woman, with new boots that allow her to fly from Hermes, occupy the skies trying to stop the drones coming down to earth to stop the grounded heroes from taking out the pillars. Aquaman goes to Atlantis to help them take out their pillars, while Flash takes out the ones in Metropolis (Wonder Woman stopped by Themyscira and told them how to take out the pillars). Cyborg stays behind the scenes and guides the team from the Fortress of Solitude, but he shows his fighting skills when multiple drones show up at the fortress of solitude to collect it.
In this climax, not a lot of destruction will ensue. Not only differentiating it from most CBM's, but making sense with the plot. Brainiac is trying to salvage these cities and countries, why would he want them in ruins?
Superman ends up battling Brainiac, but is losing. Right before Brainiac knocks Superman out, to experiment on him, Green Lantern rushes in and takes on the robot. Green Lantern destroys Brainiac's body and the duo leave as soon as they can. With their combined power, Superman and Green Lantern destroy Brainiac's ship, though this doesn't stop Brainiac's fleet like they thought it would. The drones keep on going and the pillars begin to activate. Superman and Green Lantern return to the ground where they help the rest of the heroes take out the last drones and deactivate the pillars.
In the end the heroes come out on top and are honored by the governments of the world for the work they did. After this the heroes meet up one last time. They discuss what they had just did, and if they should stay as a team. While Superman, Flash, and Cyborg argue yes, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Green Lantern argue no. It's all left up to Batman. He recognizes that Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Green Lantern have other responsibilities, but also sees why Superman, Flash, and Cyborg would want to have the team around. Batman suggests that they keep connected and that if there's ever a big threat they need to stop again, that they rejoin. The heroes seem to agree on this and they all part their separate ways.
Superman and Wonder Woman have a very special goodbye. A romance had built for them throughout the film. As Lois kind of rejected Clark in BvS, Superman turned to Wonder Woman. Lois is not as large of a part of this film as she is in BvS, but some jealousy is hinted at in the end where we see the heroes go back to their "normal" lives after parting ways. Gossip magazines are saying that Superman and Wonder Woman are together and Lois asks him about it. She tries to play it off as a joke, but her tone is tinged with jealousy.
The final scene shows Brainiac walking in to a GIANT room. His mind is being stored in one of his less advanced backup bodies and he makes his way to a black throne. The rooms left wall is a giant window and we get a glimpse of a fiery planet where the skies are red and clouds are black. He kneels in front of the throne and apologizes to his "lord" for failing to harvest a city. His lord says that he doesn't mind that earth's greatest landmarks won't be salvaged. He says to Brainiac that Brainiac is the one who will be upset to see Metropolis, Themyscira, Atlantis, Olympus, and the Rock of Eternity go. He dismisses Brainiac who says "Apokolips forever" before turning away and leaving his lord. We then see his lord stand up and walk over to the window as a fleet of Parademons fly by. A frail man referred to as Desaad enters the room and asks about the fate of Brainiac. The lord says not to worry about him and that he'll no longer be in need of use. The lord tells Desaad to gather "the elite". Desaad bows and says, "Yes, lord Darkseid." He walks out of the room as we see our first look at DARKSEID!!!!!
"Zack Snyder told me on the phone that he wanted me to play the Flash while I was eating a tilapia in a small Central American village. That was definitely a moment that prompted me to question the fabric of my reality." - Ezra Miller
One of the most important things that you gotta get right with this character and his solo film is the tone. It seems like the DCCU is going darker than the MCU (though is getting lighter), but that does not mean all of them have to feel like Man of Steel or Batman v Superman. Flash should round up to
Superman: The Movie, not down to
Watchmen. However, this isn't
Guardians of the Galaxy. It still wouldn't be considered an action/sci-fi/superhero-comedy. It'd just be a little bit more lighthearted than some other DCCU movies. Although Flash isn't as campy as some other comic book characters, it still needs to know what it is. A lot of his rogues gallery are of the Silver Age and are just recently getting the proper updates, and they STILL aren't villains you can take 100% serious.
Obviously, a key element to the character of Flash is...speed! So the movie should feel very fast paced. With the plot moving along without any unneeded stops, very fast (Tarantino-esque) dialogue, and certain styles of filming, this movie could feel just as fast Barry Allen. Well actually no. If it did it'd move so fast we wouldn't be able to watch it! The scenes that wouldn't have this rapid fire pace are ones taking place before Barry gets his powers (though all of those would be flashbacks).
The biggest controversy this character has had in a while was the casting of Ezra Miller as The Flash. Though he wasn't the first choice to come to mind, I try not to outrage about castings unless I've seen the performance as the character. I'll uphold to that, unless a line is crossed. My lines were not crossed by this announcement (like many's), but I became curious. What type of Flash are they going for? Not just "IS HE BARRY OR WALLY?!?!?!?!" like 85% of fans on this site, but what personality traits. What will he look like. How will he interact with friends, family, acquaintances, and enemies? Who is Ezra Miller's Flash? I set out to find that answer by watching some movies of Ezras, to see what type of people he's good at, or usually plays.
(NOTE: To all of you people hating on Ezra Miller as Flash for him not looking like Barry, or for him not being hetero-sexual you are ignorant, and prejudice. We've already had a gay Flash, and a Flash that doesn't look like Barry Allen. The homo-sexual actor to portray the scarlet speedster used to be a fan favorite for the role, and the other has fans saying "It should've been Gustin" or "The Flash is the best CBTVS ever!!!" Also, just because Ezra Miller has a non hetero sexuality doesn't mean Barry allen has to have one as well. And finally, the picture below. Thank you!)
I came to discover that he was an EXCELLENT actor. He has a very wide range and could definitely pull off the role. Now what would he have to pull off for the role? Who would this Barry be???
Barry Allen is a 24 year old forensic scientist for the CCPD (Central City Police Department) by day, and a 24 year old superhero for the world (but mostly Central and Keystone City)....by day too. He's both of those by night as well. He's been Flash for a little over a year now. Since he gained his powers he's lost his reputation of being slow and late, and has been able to show off his confidence to the world, that was just bubbling inside of him. He pays very close attention to detail, borderline OCD, which helps him with both of his jobs. Forensic scientist and superhero. It aids him in battle, being able to spot weaknesses in his enemy, and things around him precisely and rapidly. Barry can be very witty and sarcastic at times (not to a Wally West extent though), and is quick on his feet (pun intended). He used to get pushed around, but now stands up for himself more.
A subtle example of this could be shown through a flashback. Flash saves one of the officers that used to pick on him (as Barry) before the accident. After the officer fan-girling over Flash, Flash remembers a time when the Officer made a snarky and rude comment to Barry. After the officer walked away Barry mumbled a pretty good comeback. Then in the next scene Barry shows up at the police department and the Officer cracks a joke on Barry (comparing him to the Flash) and Barry immediately has a response that shuts down the officer and makes everyone laugh at him. It's not blatantly stated, but shown in that way.
Barry's mother died when he was 11 years old. His father was accused of killing her, and was sentenced to life in prison for it. Barry saw something that night. Flashes of red and yellow encompassed his mother when there was a flash and she was dead. Ever since Barry decided that he was going to prove that his father was innocent and find out what (or who) killed his mother. This is why he became a forensic scientist. One night, while working in his lab, a lightning bolt crashed through the window and hit him, causing him to crash in to a shelf full of chemicals. He woke up one week later in the hospital after being in a coma. He goes back to work later in the week to find that there's a new forensic scientist. Her name is Patty Spivot. She didn't replace Barry, but rather is now his co-worker. They needed to have a more reliable scientist, since Barry is always late. What they didn't know was that there actions would prove to be unecessary, because Barry Allen now has superpowers to help him with that late problem.
That Barry is not much different from the Barry in the comics at all is he? That's what I thought.
Now who should the villain be in this Flash film? We've seen just about every major character from his rogues gallery in The Flash TV show, which isn't stopping anyone from using them in the movie, but a different take on the character would be needed to differentiate the two. However, they'd need to be recognizable enough that fans of the TV show that aren't comic fans could say "Hey, that's Captain Cold/Heatwave/Grodd/Reverse-Flash/Weather Wizard!"
The movie would feature Mirror Master as a villain. With Mirror Master you could get VERY cheesy and campy, but with people like Phil Lord and Chris Miller writing it shouldn't be a problem. In 22 Jump Street and even The Lego Movie they show'd that they can make a movie that knows what it is. So how would they avoid making Mirror Master super cheesy? Take elements from both of them.
Sam Scudder would be the Mirror Master, but elements of Even McCulloch would be incorporated. Evan McCulloch was a sociopathic killer. His tragic/twisted story would not be amalgamated with Scudder's, so that McCulloch could be used later down the road. Personality traits would be borrowed from Evan to give to Sam. So who is this Mirror Master?
When Sam Scudder was young he discovered his special abilities. He was in school (6th grade) and asked the teacher to go use the bathroom. After using the bathroom, he begins to look at himself in the mirror. He reaches out to the mirror and touches it. When he does, his hand falls through. He quickly pulls it back out. Instead of running to tell someone, his natural instinct, he begins to play around with it. He chucks a bunch of toiler paper rolls and paper towels in to it, when he slips on a wet paper towel and falls in to the mirror. He's never seen again. An extensive search goes on to find him, but no one ever does. But one day, 16 years later (at 28 years old), he comes out.
He goes to visit his parents first, after jacking some clothes off of a random guy. After being by himself in an alternate dimension or 16 years, he's gone sort of crazy. He expects his parents to still be grieving, when he finds that they've moved on with a 16 year old daughter and 12 year old son. He's infuriated and proceeds to kill his family. He then throws them all in to a separate mirrors and leaves the house. After this he visits the teacher that gave him permission to go to the bathroom and throws her in to a mirror. He realizes that he oddly likes doing this, and wants to do it more. He begins to refine his abilities and he advances. He can now put objects in the mirrors without having to be touching them the entire time they pass through. He can use his abilities on any type of reflection, and begins to transport himself through mirrors and reflections. He starts to use his abilities for bank robberies, and that's when he meets the Flash.
He becomes the master of the mirror world.
The Flash has several encounters with Scudder throughout the film and enlists the help of Patty Spivot and Darwin Elias (the movie's version of team flash) to help him take down the Mirror Master.
In the end, Flash is trapped in the mirror world. He escapes the mirror world (destroying it) by running so fast that he breaks through the barrier and comes in to the real world. He frees all of the people trapped inside; which includes politicians, wealthy business people, other civilians (Iris West), and the bodies of everyone he's killed. Mirror Master goes 100% insane when the mirror world is destroyed, and he takes a dive over the bridge connecting Central and Keystone City so that he can escape in to the reflection of the water. He does nothing but fall on to the rocks on the shore and rolls in to the water, it's gone.
The final scene takes place in Iron Heights Prison. We see a continuing moving shot that winds through a prison. We follow a path of destruction. Prisoners, guards, policemen/women, and SWAT officers all lie unconscious on the floor. Smoke rises off of some of them, some covered in ice. We finally make it to the outside of the prison where we see Leonard Snart, and standing in front of the prison with their classic weapons. All of them had been mentioned as villains Flash had already taken down in events prior to the film, but now they're back. This is when Snart says, "We took Iron Heights, now for the Genome Recorder."
