BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Producer Talks Possible Storm Plans And Says X-MEN Are Still "A Few Years Out"

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore has commented on the possibility of Storm finding her way to Wakanda, but points out that any sort of X-Men reboot in the MCU is still "a few years out."

Following Sir Patrick Stewart's return as a Professor X Variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU got its first official mutant with Ms. Marvel's Kamala Khan. We know Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Namor is also a mutant, and it surely won't be too much longer before the X-Men make their presence felt in this shared world.

There's currently no official word on a reboot, unfortunately, with Deadpool 3 even expected to take us back to Fox's X-Men Universe (which he and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine calls home). While we're sure the Merc with the Mouth will find his way into the MCU at some point, it's clear Marvel Studios is in no rush to add this iconic team of mutants to the Multiverse Saga.

Talking to Screen Rant, Black Panther franchise producer Nate Moore weighed in on the chances of Storm finding her way to Wakanda and shared an update on X-Men plans.

"Well, Storm's relationship with Wakanda in publishing is pretty interesting. Obviously, we might be a few years out from the X-Men, so I'm not sure we're there yet," he explains. "Who else from Wakanda have we not introduced? I mean, there's a pretty deep bench, actually."

"And especially, I think, Ta-Nehisi's run introduced a lot of key characters that would be fun to export. Even characters like Vibraxas, which are more Fantastic Four characters. But yeah, it's a pretty deep bench. I think there's a lot more stories to tell on Wakanda for sure."

If Avengers: Secret Wars reboots the MCU and creates a new Earth-616, it could be that the X-Men are just part of that. Alternatively, Marvel Studios may be planning to take its time with these characters, taking a slow-burn approach to introducing mutants before they eventually assemble as a team.

One thing we do know is that Marvel Studios would be wise to leave as much breathing space as possible between Dark Phoenix and whatever they have planned for the franchise.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters on November 11.
