I like the animation. Reminds me of the old Marvel shows from the 60's. Why doesn't this have a release date here in the U.S.

This really looks like shit. It makes the old Captain America animated series look better. I'm all for motion comics but not when it comes down to Romita Jr.'s dirty blocky art. To each's own. I was looking forward to watching this, but now i can't stand it.

Whats funny is, there is no such thing as a black panther. Its actually a leopard. And the leopard is not even black, when you look at it in the sun, its actually a deep red spots all over it with a black base(seen with my own eyes). But because of the jungle they live in and shadows they stay in, they appear black. Talked to a wild cat professional about that at a place called 'Cat Haven' in Cali and he said the confusion with most people came from The jungle Book thinking its solid black. Its pretty much a dark leopard thats all. oh well..

The Story is Good...but I see what folks are saying about the Animation... You'll either Love it or Hate it.

They probably should've done the Animation like all X-Men, etc (Todays Current Style) to appease everyone.

Persoanlly...it I'm cool with the Animation cus it looks almost Comic Book Style....but I know it would've been better if they had just made it to what most people are accustom to.

Thats probably why the U.S. isn't showing this out of fear of people getting upset with this style(among other reasons)

Like I said...personally... I Like What I'm seeing... And I'm digging the Story.

Thanks for posting this...
:D

Agreed NubaX-it was a very good story. I am just not a fan of motion comics. Its just sitting on a fence and not spending the $$ to put out a quality product. They have everything else going for it, why skimp here?

Huh... The animation is better than I thought it was gonna be. It's motion comic esque, but not quite. Maybe Romita Jr. had more of a hand in this.

@war noodle
So a fictional show cant have a fictional cat, with its fictional character and country???? Wow... seriously are you just a troll, or do you actually care about these sort of things? As little as spectacular as this show is, it IS better than nothing. even if more are made in this style i look forward to them. Love that they added storm to the mix as well.

hmmmmm..
well personally if it ever comes to the states I am definitely going to give it a chance.
I would want to see it just on the strength of the chartacter alone which is substantial.

The reason it looks old is because Romita Jr. wanted this to have an Jack Kirby style to it. Thats the reasons it looks the way it does. Just as the Batman Brave & the Bold has an old look it as well.
Shaman
Shaman - 1/25/2010, 12:46 PM
Anything with the concept of Black Panther has the potential to be good. But with better animation, it would be... better. The old 60ies animation series had sometimes pretty good stories to them yet i still can't stand looking at them today. And Romita Jr's personal style just adds insult to injury IMHO but i know that's just me. I've never been a fan of ANY dirty stiff blocky art. To me, Romita is the absolute worst. Kirby was 3 times the artist that Romita is. Oh and i HATE Batman: Brave & the Bold. I can't believe they cancelled my favortie Batman series ever for that shit on a stick!

NubaX - 1/25/2010, 12:47 PM
I Agree Spock...After Watching this...you do get use to this Unique Style...

I mean..it does set itself apart from all the rest though this isn't the first series that went in that direction as you said.

Here is Part of that Episode...

JoshWilding - 1/25/2010, 12:56 PM
Meh, I never really watch animated stuff like this (mainly because none of it seems to be much good!) so I cant say I'm bothered about this either way...it is a pity its no good though because the last decent animated series I watched was the Spider-Man one MTV did after the first movie!

Guys, check out my X-FORCE Fan Cast under "Fan Fic"!!! :)

Shaman its not that Bad, that Dam Ironman crap is 10 times worst. I mean really the Reboot Cgi cartoon was way better than the Ironman crap. But I understand your point view being your an artist!

jimdrums - 1/25/2010, 1:14 PM
I like the idea of a Black Panther series and the acting is strong but the animation should've been done by someone else. I'm also glad that Storm is in this series, I will watch it.

InstigatorGIRL - 1/25/2010, 1:38 PM
Man the animation sucks. Sorry to say but I couldn't watch it because its a motion comic.
@Shaman. I am pissed they stopped the Batman for Brave and the Bold. God I HATE that cartoon. I liked The Batman. The animation may not have been great but the stories were awesome.

Wow...dripping with anti-Americanism, plus all the villains are white. I think I'll take a pass.

Wow... And I thought the opening creds were dogshit!

Another big whiff from Marvel Animations. Maybe someday they can get back to their Spider-Man/X-Men roots.
Spock

I some of us are missing the point, this was a tribute to Kirbys art style, nothing more. Just give it a chance.

Well you see, in regards to "animation styles" Ironman Armored Adventures is sleek, smooth and fluid. It's amazing how they can keep it's fast pace concidering it's computer generated. IMHO, it's flawless. Ironman Armored Adventures has the best animation i've ever seen in an animated tv series. Notice how i haven't said a word about it's storyline. I won't comment on how they assraped the character's storyline to cater to kids but trust me when i say that had they kept it strictly by the book, most people would rave about the animation. They shit on it because of how inaccurate of an adaptation it is. All the while, it's animation is pretty much unsurpassed. I would have been ECSTATIC to have gotten that particular animation style for the Spectacular Spider-Man series even though i think it's fine the way it is, Ironman's style would have been an obvious improvement. They could have added more detail to the surroundings but that has nothing to do with the animation style. The animation is the movement of the imagery, and that is flawless in Iroman's case. Black Panther's animation is an abomination in the fact that it is merely "motion comic" and worse for the fact that they are using way below par art style, courtesy of Romita Jr. Technology is moving forward, i don't see why they can't drag Black Panther/Batman: Brave & Bold along with it.

shaman: "i don't see why they can't drag Black Panther/Batman: Brave & Bold along with it."

yep! yep! yep! Here they had the perfect opportunity to re-introduce a great superhero and they have blown the first shot away. Its like they want it to fail. Like you say shaman with todays technology they could have made it POP!

Folks,

Do some of you really not like this Black Panther series because most of the villains potrayed so far are white? Because there is some historic and current references to Anglo-European conquest and imperialism in the current global socio-economic-capitalist power structure, and a consensus to maintain the status quo?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think it's an awesome show. Can't wait for it to hit the states and I'll be pre-ordering the DVD.
