After Comic-Con, we know at least a little more about what to expect from Black Widow, and star Rachel Weisz has now revealed even more details in a post-Hall H interview. We don't know exactly who her character is aside from the fact that she's named Melina (which means it's possible she's playing Iron Maiden), but it's now been confirmed that she will be another Black Widow!

"Melina has been cycled through the Red Room programmed five times by the time the film starts," the actress explains. "She started being cycled through when she was a child. She's a highly accomplished spy and assassin but I can't tell you her relationship to anyone else."

Asked how many Black Widows we'll see in the movie, Weisz added: "There are quite a number. I'm a Black Widow and Scarlet and Florence. There are quite a lot of other characters you meet who are Black Widows." It definitely sounds like we're going to be taken to some unexpected places here and the Red Room will clearly factor into this adventure in a big way.

The question is, could Weisz or Florence Pugh end up inheriting the Widow mantle from Natasha?

With the film set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Johansson promises we’ll see a different Natasha than the one in past MCU films. “When something huge explodes and all the pieces are landing, you have that moment of stillness where you don’t know what to do next — that’s the moment that she’s in. In that moment, you actually have to face yourself.”

Harbour’s character is also known as the Red Guardian, Russia’s answer to Captain America. “In a way, he’s a super-soldier, but he’s also a very complicated guy. He has a lot of flaws, a lot of idiosyncrasies. It’s a very rich character” Harbour told EW.

Comic-Con attendees were treated to a fight scene between Black Widow and Pugh’s character Yelena Belova, described as a sister figure to the superspy.

It hasn't been released online but those attending Comic-Con were treated to a fight scene between Black Widow and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova. However, it sounds like these two have a sister-like relationship and will actually be allies in the movie.

Fagbenle describes his character Mason as “a fixer,” who comes from Natasha’s past and is “kind of into her.” “It’s a bit of a complex relationship with Natasha because obviously, ostensibly we have this kind of business transaction, but I think there’s a little romantic frisson,” Fagbenle told EW.

The question is, could he be playing Taskmaster? That would certainly be a pretty interesting twist.

Weisz described her character Malena to EW as “quite a seasoned spy and assassin,” who has “been cycled through the Black Widow Red Room [program] five times at this point in her life.” She also plays a key part in a top-secret experiment within the film.
