Wesley Snipes Claims To Be Actively Developing TWO Different Ideas For BLADE 4

Wesley Snipes has been talking about making Blade 4 a reality for many years now & during a recent interview, the actor claimed that something is indeed in the works and he's looking to make it a reality.

It's been fourteen years since Blade: Trinity was released and two decades since Blade hit the big screen. If Marvel Studios has any plans for the character, they'll probably be on the small screen or as some sort of reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Wesley Snipes, however, remains convinced that a fourth instalment of the franchise will happen and that he's going to be able to reprise the role!

During a recent interview, Snipes claimed that he is currently working on finding a way to keep his version of the Vampire Hunter alive. "There are a lot of conversations going around right now and we’re very blessed to have the enthusiasm and interest in something coming from that world."

"We’ve created two projects that fit perfectly into this world and, when people see them, I think they’re only going to have a problem with deciding which one they love the most," he continued. Whether or not those will actually happen is another matter and Snipes went on to say that he's actually met with Marvel Studios, something that lends at least some weight to the actor's plans.

"All the main execs [at Marvel] and my team, we’ve been discussing for the past two years. Everyone’s enthusiastic about it, everybody gets it. But they got a business to run and they gotta square the things that they gotta figure out before they can get to it, I guess. In the meantime, we got a business to run and our own slate of things to do so. But the next time you see something in [Blade], mark my words: What we did before is child’s play compared to what we can do now."

Will it happen? Honestly, it sounds about as likely as Tyrese Gibson playing Green Lantern, but stranger things have happened and a Blade movie could very well be part of Marvel Phase 4 slate next year.

@JourneyIntoMystery - i want him to be the first full fledged crossover character between the streaming content sites like Netflix and the MCU... i can see him in a Daredevil like 7 episode streaming movie and also in the MCU alongside Strange or Spidey or others...

@JonC - make him a part of the black widow flick... where he is hunting prey in Russia and she comes across him 'behind the iron curtain' but can't diverge from her mission there to investigate him further.

If there are two ideas ther e& they really have been talking about this for 2 years, depending on whether it's going to be a PG13 type movie or R Rated, I'd happily have Blade take over where Guardians Vol. 3 was going to be released providing there is enough time to develop one of these ideas into reality.

Ah, Blade The Spliffed Up Vampire or Blade, Bonged and bad ass..

Which will I love more....NEITHER....

Wesley is simply chasing the buck, sure Blade has is owed a lot by the Marvel CMU, its the founding father you might say and Wesley made Blade great, sadly he got bored with it and started being a huge arsehole, being high and avoiding taxes seemed more important. Judging by the company and on screen interviews he is still running with the weed crowd...

If they though Gunn had demons to come back and haunt they will be shocked what this guy could drag them down with..

@Mclane - who isn't ‘…chasing the buck!?’ And while Snipes may have indeed had tax problems–not sure what's making weed has to do with anything–you have no idea if he ‘got bored with it’ and in fact from what I read that reaction on his part seemed a result of a David Goyer taking control of the franchise–and running it into a ditch.

@Kozmik - Actually, his fellow actors have given interviews talking about how during Blade 3, Snipes often complained about how bored he was with the role. Everyone on set waiting to see if Snipes would come out of his trailer for a planned shoot. When he did show, he'd be high as hell and verbally abusive to crew. Huge sequences of that movie were made up on the spot because Snipes didn't show on the day of filming. Of course, this is just what other people have said. Who knows how much is true.

Hopefully, since he wants this to happen, we'll get something better this time round. The first Blade was awesome, the sequels, eh, not so much. Everything he's saying here sounds just perfect, so I have high hopes. =D

Would love to see a Blade Netflix show and think there would be a market for it.
Love Wesley as Blade but I'm sure Marvel will want to do their own thing.

Would love to see Omari Hardwick as Blade, been a fan of his since I first saw him in Dark Blue and have seen his star continue to rise as the lead in Power.

@SimplyAz - hmmm I think the only new netflix show we will get is heroes for hire and maybe a daughters show and honestly blade deserves another movie

@BoyWonder -

I just think owing to it's darker nature it would fit in with the Netflix shows and they could show more of the environment, but I would be happy enough with a movie.

I wouldn't at all mind them doing another Blade movie (though unfortunately a show is more likely) where he's a bit older, just as long as Snipes commits more to it than he did Blade:Trinity.
