The last time Wesley Snipes suited up as the "Daywalker" was for the underwhelming Blade: Trinity, but the first 2 movies are well regarded enough that the demand is still there for him to return to the role. In past interviews the actor has spoken fondly about the character and said he would love to fang-up again if the opportunity arose, but most of us felt this was wishful thinking. Well, turns out Marvel might just be interested in putting something together... or at least, they were! "The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things," Snipes told Deadline while chatting about his upcoming NBC series The Player. "I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air."
Considering the fact that people are still so passionate about this 11 years after the last movie, Marvel would be smart to take another look. Still, even if Snipes doesn't get to play Blade again he's definitely open to playing another comic book character. "I've always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and I'd be nice to be a part of the family again," he said. "But if we don’t to a 'Blade 4' or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else."
Would you be happy to see Snipes play Blade again, or would you prefer a different actor in the role now?
