Captain America Caerwent And Aldershot, Hampshire Filming Dates Revealed!
Filming dates for the Welsh army base have finally been revealed while Aldershot Military Town has now been revealed as yet another location they'll be filming at! Hit the jump for the intriguing details...
Remember all that effort I went into to find out whether or not Captain America: The First Avenger would be filming just down the road from me here in Wales? Well, looks like I wasted a heck of a lot of time as CBM scooper Grant Summers has got in touch with me with a list of filming dates that were posted all the way back on August 24th! Thanks to him of course for the heads up!
Martin Fox, who has been a 'supporting artist' on TV shows such as as Sherlock, Torchwood and Dr Who (all of which were filmed in various parts of Wales) has posted the following dates on his blog which reveal the dates that the rumoured "war scene" will be filmed!
25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th October in Caerwent – NIGHTSHOOTS
1st, 2nd, 3rd November in Caerwent - NIGHTSHOOTS
8th & 9th November in Aldershot, Hampshire. DAYSHOOTS. We will arrange buses from Caerwent for these 2 days.
Well, I can promise you guys that I'll be there on all of these dates in order to try and get some pictures of what they're filming! It's a pretty huge base and has many buildings that they may decide to use for interior shots but I'll hopefully be able to see something as there are several points around the former WWII era military base and Royal Navy propellant factory where it's easy to get a good look inside of!
Here is some information about the newly revealed filming location of Aldershot courtesy of Wikipedia:
"Aldershot Military Town is the area between Aldershot and the 'North Camp' near Farnborough which is the location for all the military buildings, including married quarters, barracks and army playing fields. The military town includes the Aldershot Observatory and the Aldershot Military Cemetery, the Royal Garrison Church and other garrison churches, as well as barracks for The Royal Military Police. The town used to be the corps headquarters for the Royal Corps of Transport and the Army Catering Corps."
What on Earth could they be filming at these locations? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place! And if you have any photos or video from either this set in Liverpool or Manchester then send them to us here at CBM by clicking on the "Contact Me" link at the top left hand side of this page!
Captain America: The First Avenger will be released on July 22, 2011!
