CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Star Frank Grillo Says Marvel Has Plans To Bring Crossbones Back

We watched Crossbones die in Captain America: Civil War but actor Frank Grillo has now dropped some pretty major clues about plans Marvel Studios have for the villain moving forward. Read on for details!

After introducing Brock Rumlow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios ended up wasting Crossbones in the first ten minutes or so of Civil War when he was seemingly killed by the Scarlet Witch after trying to blow himself up. This is the Marvel Cinematic Universe we're talking about, though, so it's entirely feasible he may have somehow survived and will return to plague Steve Rogers.

Despite stating in a previous interview that he's done with Crossbones, Frank Grillo has now dropped some hints about what comes next for the villain and it sounds like big plans are being put in place!

"It’s great to be part of Marvel too," he says, "and I have three boys who are fanatical about Marvel, and I was surprised not too long ago because there is some news that nobody knows yet, to do with my character, that’s going to be really interesting and I’m excited about that." Avengers 4 seems unlikely but there are other Marvel movies he could appear in, including the 1990s set Captain Marvel!

We'll just have to wait and see but feel free to share your theories in the comments section below.

One of the better villains. Seemed such a waste.

@MarvelousMarty - I LOVED him as a side Villain, I was hoping him, Zemo, and Klaue would end up forming the Masters of Evil or Thunderbolts under Ross.

Glad they're bringing him back. Grillo has been great in the role. Would've made a fine Frank Castle too. Interested to see how they bring him back...

Wonder if that means Avengers will invole Thanos using the gauntlet to make the Avengers face some past faces? Would be great to see things like Iron Man having to fight Stane again, or having Yusef come back to chide him of something. Could get Red Skull and more back. Doubt it though really, I mean the cast is massive and expensive enough as it is, imagine having to add names like Hugo Weaving, Jeff Bridges, Stanley Tucci etc for bit parts.

@connorblaze - You wouldn't need to though. Stane could be in his suit the whole time and make up could have like a stand in replace Hugo. Then just some select sound clips. Just enough that you get who they are to add to the tension of the moment but not take attention away from Thanos.

He would have made a great henchmen to future villains. And also dont we still have Batroc around? They could team up for a mission with maybe some other low power henchmen like taskmaster or swordsman. Or that D man guy who used to wear the old yellow daredevil costume. I believe he started as a villain. Wouldn't it be cool if Hawkeye was a villain in Cap Marvel and Crossbones was good? Would add to their back story

@SecretWarrior - Right!?? Zemo, Baltroc, Crossbones, Strucker, and Abomination

@SecretWarrior - No way Batroc is coming back unless Bisping beats GSP at 217 and he re-retires lol

@DJRock93 - That could very well happen. Bisping is on a roll right now. I think 5 wins in a row.

Still though, there's no way GSP's Batroc will return to the MCU. He was a great cameo/side villain though.

@L0RDbuckethead - Agreed, I think GSP's style is outdated, we'll see if he's adapted

@DJRock93 - Yeah, it'll be interesting to see. I've always been a big fan of him, I'm hoping he can make a worthy comeback.

If you think Crossbone is wasted, how should that first 10 minutes play out?
