While we're in the midst of promotion-week for Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger movie, we still have the first live-action look airing during the 45th annual Super Bowl, Sunday, February 6. And being that this is the week for the sentinel of Liberty, one can only anticipate what else Marvel has in store. Well, according to Ain't It Cool News' Harry Knowles:

"We're also going to be seeing the CAPTAIN AMERICA one sheet this Friday!" Hinting that his source has seen the poster, as well the tv-spot, Harry says,"The people that have seen both upcoming items were very excited about them. They couldn't go into detail, but I can't wait."

Anyhow, Captain America: The First Avenger is slated for theaters July 22, in 3D! What do you think?

It better not be a black and white version of the Empire cover *it shouldn't be the Empire cover AT ALL*. I wanna see at LEAST Cap, Red skull and Bucky on the poster

I know most of us fans were expecting something new out of the Thor poster, but a lot of my friends who never saw the Empire cover thought the poster looked frickin amazing. They hadn't even seen the trailer but they knew, just from that one poster, that the movie was going to be godly.

While it would be nice for a new pose of Cap (preferably with his helmet/mask) for the one-sheet, I wouldn't mind if it was the same image from the cover of Empire. Those marketing people at Marvel really know how to take the simplest images and make them look spectacular, in my opinion.

This will probably be the first promo pic to feature the full costume with the helmet. The stills give a look at it, but this will hopefull make it look even cooler.

Here's hoping for some Drew Struzan artwork in the style of an Indiana Jones poster. (Why not? They compare this thing to "Raiders" so much that they might as well go for an Indy-style ad campaign.)

Slightly off topic question - I live in the UK and the superbowl is being shown here both live on the BBC and Sky Sports.

Does that mean we will get to see the tv spots live? The BBC doesn't even have advertising on their channel so will they be shown on Sky?

Or will I just have to hit youtube in the morning??

no mate,i found them online before the superbowl even started on the saturday & sunday on firstshowing.net,you can always give that a try.

the transformer chevy superbowl ad was on this site yesterday.
