Talking to
MTV News at the recent Spirit Awards, the actor remained cryptic when asked whether Captain America's arrival to the present day means we won't see the World War II character Gabe Jones in any future Marvel Studios movies.
"It's amazing what happens when you walk through one door, it opens so many of them. So what I'll say is so many doors are open right now for me on that level and I'm just excited."
Thankfully, the site didn't let him get away with such a vague answer and pushed him into explaining exactly what he meant by the above comment.
"In the world of Marvel, you can be anybody at any time so what you see is not always what is. That's all I have to say. I'm saying the door is wide open," Luke said, refusing to add any more. "And I'm excited."
Wishful thinking on his part of has he reached a deal with Marvel Studios to return as a different character altogether?! His role in
Captain America: The First Avenger was a fairly small one so they could probably get away with casting him as someone entirely different. On the other hand, perhaps this just backs up past rumours which indicated that Jones would appear either as an old man or in WWII flashbacks. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
