Nobody answered BIGBMH as to WHY Cap is reverting back to #1 i've collected the entire Brubaker run so why on earth re-start it?? Cashing in on a movie is sooo wrong and disrespects the fanbase but naivety aside this is why i HATE collecting this sort of action burns you out... maybe i'm done!

I heard a rumor that Marvel plans on increasing the stakes on the last page and have Captain America renounce his citizenship. Next issue: Captain Cambodia #1!

@BigBMH and skulldeath - Actually they aren't "rebooting" their characters, they are just trying to make these comics more accessible to new comic buyers that are just discovering these heroes through the movies. after a year or so they may revert back to their standard numbering system.

The stories will be more accessible too, but it doesn't discount their pasts. This isn't Ultimate type stuff here. They are not re-writing their histories like DC likes to do every 5 years.

Superman: renounces his citizenship.

Captain America: shoots Nazis.

Yeah, I'll stick with Marvel.

That's some of the best [frick]ing artwork I've ever seen! Inspiring!
On an ever so slightly related note, please can you guys check out my latest fan fic X-Men Origins: Magneto and tell me what you think, I'd really appreciate it! (It even has a Cap cameo and HYDRA appear as the main antagonists!) Thanks!

@ bigbmh, skulldeath, and sinchs

actually, its for money. they think if they put a #1 on the cover that more people will buy it because it will be a collector's edition. these days thats just ridiculous.

just look at Moon Knight, the guy has had 3 #1 issues in 5 years. that isn't for any reason other than money.

as good as this comic looks, its really getting irritating, especially since they just renumbered their book to 600 a year or so back for the same exact reason. its actually kind of insulting.

@ BIGBMH

Sales gimmick. "#1" sticks out a lot more, and like sinchsw said, it makes it more accessible to new readers. It's just like when Thor(3rd series) and X-Factor(3rd series) series started over at #1 and did the opposite. Thor's total series count went to 700 and X-Factor's to 200 so they redid the numbering system to cash in. Issue 700 and issue 200 is a lot more catchy than issue 13 and issue 51

CorndogBurglar i totally agree see my last post above,it just jerks the loyal fanbase who spend hard earned money following a storyline for years then to be told ''oh it's going back to #1 and in a new direction thanks but we need new readers'' well this marketing strategy belongs back in the 90's!!! The 600 idea was good but this move is horrible guess I'm old enough not to follow Marvel's cynical ploy to make a buck so long cap!
