Last year, Marvel Studios' head honcho Kevin Fiege confirmed that the WWII era superhero team The Invaders, would be featured in the entire second half of their much anticipated
Captain America: The First Avenger movie. And while filming has been underway for several weeks, the only "Invader" that has an actor named is Bucky Barnes played by Romanian actor Sebastian Stan.
Well according to the often bogus
IMDB, Marvel has cast American-born English actor
JJ Feild as one of the Invaders' most prominent members; Montgomery Falsworth, Union Jack.
JJ Feild has appeared in several small films & television series. And can be seen playing the role of Simon Doyle in the television series
Poirot, and has also appeared in
Northanger Abbey alongside Felicity Jones as well as the televised version of
The Ruby in the Smoke alongside Billie Piper.
If you don't already know, Montgomery Falsworth was a field marshal in the British army. And his superiors decided to create a guise that would strike terror in enemy hearts as well as rally troops by having Falsworth appear as a personification of the British national flag. Though he was the original, he offered his son Brian the mantle of Union Jack, passing on the legacy.
While you can obviously take this with a grain of salt, Joe Johnston also mentioned a while ago that
The First Avenger would include The Invaders six members strong. And the only reason I can think of why Marvel have yet to announce other actors, or confirm
Vincent D'onofrio is because they have yet to shoot major scenes of the second half of the film, which I assume will be WWII battle sequences. What do you think?
If true however, Feild joins Chris Evans (Captain America) Hugo Weaving (Red Skull), Tommy Lee Jones (Gen. Chester Philips), Sebastian Stan (Bucky), Stanley Tucci (Abraham Erskine), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola), Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark), Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), in Joe Johnston direction.
And in 3D,
Captain America forces into theaters July 22, next year!
