Marvel Turns to Major League Baseball July 4th to Promote Captain America:The First Avenger

Many Major League Baseball teams will feature Fireworks this July 4th presented by Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment's Captain America:The First Avenger.

What do the Chicago White Sox, Washington Nationals, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves and Oakland Athletics all have in common? This July 4th all the teams I just mentioned will be featuring huge post game, Independence Day, Fireworks celebrations presented by Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment's Captain America:The First Avenger.

Below are just a few excerpts from the White Sox official press release...

The Chicago White Sox will host an Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Show, presented by Captain America, when the team faces the Kansas City Royals on Monday at 6:10 p.m.

Paramount Pictures also will promote the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger movie (in theaters July 22) and will give away t-shirts and mini posters on the main concourse at Section 157.

Hawksblueyes: It makes perfect sense that on what is undoubtedly America's most "patriotic" holiday, Marvel would use America's pastime to promote The First Avenger.

Cool. I wish they were doing it for the Yankees/Mets game so I could see it. This is a very good idea by Marvel.

Well Fenway is the Nations oldest MLB park, and will be celebrating it's 100th anniversary. So it would be cool to see them promote our Greatest American Hero. BTW screw u gusto!!

This could be happening in more ball parks than listed in the article. These are all I could find for sure. I would venture a guess that it is league wide, these kind of promotions usually are BUT I couldn't find anything confirming or denying that.

You have to have the Cubs as part of the promotion. Their colors are already Red, White, and Blue.

I've been seeing the Braves commercial for about a month now and would love to go the game but then I remembered the expensive beer and traffic and decided to enjoy the game from the house! Go Bravo and Captain America!

I thought Cap is from Brooklyn, and Dodgers is his team. Or probably the Mets. Everybody from Spider-Man to the Thing love the Mets.

JackBauer and Wildaniels, is a good thing it is not football we are talking about... there would be a three way deathmatch going on between us... I am from Charlotte NC and I am a die hard Panthers fan. You can tell I am die hard because even after last season I will admit to being a fan...

I do think it is a good idea to tie this into the July 4th celebration, but I do wonder why they did not release it on the forth. If ever a movie should've been it should have been this one...

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS ARE MY LIFE!!! LOL.

Maybe its because Transformers came out this week and they didnt want the movie to compete with them.
