Hey guys, Doug here again with a rather bold prediction for the future of two franchises which had thier second installments hit earlier this year. Yes, I believe everyone's favorite wallcrawler will be making a guest appearance in the third Captain America movie. Think I'm crazy, right? Here's my evidence:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Beats Amazing Spider Man 2 At Box Office

Amazing Spider-Man 3 Delayed From 2016 (Captain America 3's Release Year) To 2018

Russo on new characters for Cap 3: "Do they have to be under contract at Marvel? Maybe they are at another studio."

Fans will "freak out" at characters in Captain America 3.

Marvel is still actively promoting Spider Man while shutting out Fantastic Four and X Men stuff.

S
pider Man's color scheme is also red, white, and blue.

This would probably be an extremely positive move for Sony, who needs to boost credibility for their Amazing Spider-Man franchise. What better way for them to do that than for it to mingle with the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Spidey wouldn't have to play a HUGE role in the third Cap movie; he would more or less just serve the same role as Falcon in Cap 2, showing up as a supporting character to assist Cap when he really needs it.

Hypothetically, they would write him into the storyline in a way that wouldn't really require the viewer to have seen the first two Amazing Spider-Man flicks, with Cap's journey somehow taking him to New York City and introducing Spidey as some sort of resident vigilante who hasn't quite attained the legendary status of heroes like those on the Avengers team.

Complain about how much of an idiot I am in the comments please.

So colour scheme, B.O gross and a vague remark from the director are your reasons to believe this?

Okay...

Sure, it's the biggest property, but does Marvel get any royalties, AT ALL? To the best of my knowledge, they don't.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier Beats Amazing Spider Man 2 At Box Office"

Not by a significant amount, so that argument falls apart. They were both more than profitable.

They may not get royalties (which I'm not certain of) but the comic sales will most definitely be going up.

No. No. Bad bad bad. Fan fiction. Spidey needs to be by himself. I hate him with the avengers. It doesn't make sense to me. I don't like wolverine on the avengers either. I don't like I humans as avengers or lady Thor. Or winter soldier. It's weird.

Actually, Spiderman by himself is getting quite boring. He clearly brings more story material to the table with his enemies. and if they bring in a rebooted Spiderman into Marvel universe in say 8 years when Sony's rights run out and perhaps by then MCU is past the Magic and Space phase and come back to Earth to find unhumanly technology like Dr. Moreau type of ideas causing the birth of things that create spidermen, cats of the black colour, goblins of the green nature, octopuses with doctorate degrees, and vulturely humans, etc. I would welcome him into MCU. But Spiderman by himself does the same thing every movie now. He feels sad/bad bout himself, fights someone close to him, or with absurd levels of connection to him. Look Spidey mate, I've had enough of your silly issues. You can just be another SHIELD operative in 8 years pls.

NO. Marvel needs to recast Spidey if he's going to be in the MCU.... I can't stand Sony's version, and I don't want to think of those crappy TASM films while I'm watching the MCU....

As awesome as it would be they would have to deal with the diva that is Andrew Garfield, who refuses to work Mondays because he hates them and will only eat Lasagna.

Can we put the "marvel is shutting out XMen and FF" thing to bed already? XMen still has several series every month and FF just started a new one.

This stupid theory/debate/wishful thinking is never going to end, is it?

"He might be in Avengers!" Then when he didn't show up: "He might be in Avengers 2!" Then when he doesn't show up: "He might be in Cap 3!"

Its just never going to end. Every time he doesn't show up, these people just hope for him to be in the next big Marvel movie.

Give it up, people. Spidey isn't in the MCU!

I doubt it'll happen but, honestly, it is more of a possibility than people are giving you credit for. Think about it, just for one second, people. SONY is in financial trouble. Their SPIDER-MAN franchise isn't doing as well as they had hoped. In order to renew interest in the franchise, they've decided to focus on the spin-offs first and the main character second. They pushed THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 back to 2018. What if that is to give screenwriters more time to, not only fix what they thought was wrong with TASM2, but to also prepare for the added adventure he had with Captain America? Now, think about this for a second, Spider-Man isn't going to appear in a film until 2018. He doesn't have the benefit of being in an Avengers film. However, Iron Man 3 made over one billion dollars having come out after the last Avengers film. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is hailed as a truly fantastic film. The same team that was behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier is behind Captain America 3. SONY needs to get some good buzz around Spider-Man again, Marvel can accomplish that, and lay the groundwork for their villain team-up film to do well later in the year by attaching it to the brand. If SONY understands that they just need to build that, they might even let MARVEL use him for free, as long as they use their version, in order to cross-promote and keep out of the production as much as possible. Story wise, it wouldn't be hard to implement a connection, if done right. From a business standpoint, using Captain America 3 would really help SONY and it would also help MARVEL, who will be reeling after Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. If Batman v. Superman doesn't deliver, MARVEL will. If Batman v. Superman does deliver, MARVEL can offer some great team-up content in order to stay with them. And, think of the buzz, that both SONY and MARVEL will get because nothing of this scale has EVER been done before. It'd be a great business move if SONY really understood what they needed to do. That would be a deal that MARVEL wouldn't pass up. No sir.

@AlphaAndDecima Marvel Studios was pretty heavily involved in the origin story of Spider-Man. Marc Webb said that there wasn't a single decision that was made without their input. The only thing they went back on Marvel for was the seeming insignificance on Uncle Ben's killer (which I completely agree with). The second film, on the other hand, had SONY try to break away and do their own things without most of Marvel Entertainment's help. The character was crafted in much the same way the modern Iron Man and such is. Plus, whether you like it or not, the problems and reservations people have the franchise (at least critically), has very little, if at all, to do with Garfield's Peter Parker or Spider-Man, who is widely seen as a likeable protagnist. The biggest problem with the franchise is the villains, which I'd argue is also Marvel Studios' weak point. The problem, though, is SONY is determined to make a film focused around the villains where as Marvel only uses the villains as a means to an end. I don't like Marvel would have any problem with it, quite honestly. If they can get their flagship character for free, no matter what it might entail, I'd bet my right nut they'd take it. The only question is: is SONY really that desperate?

I honestly hate This Spiderman. I don't know if it's Garfield or the writing be comes of as a cocky prick. Iron man it made sense he's [frick]ing rich and has done something with his life. Parker [frick]s with people, does what ever he wants, is rude, the high five at graduation...like that's not Peter Parker.Parker is a nerdy guy who has quips and one liners. This Parker genuinely believes he's baddass and untouchable and when Gwen died I wasn't even sad because he sucks so bad.
