Bryce Dallas Howard Says She Would Love To Be In A Marvel Film; CAPTAIN MARVEL Anyone?
While on the press tour for her upcoming sure-to-be blockbuster, Jurassic World, star Bryce Dallas Howard was asked whether or not she would be interested in another superhero movie in the future - specifically Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel. Come check it out!
Even though it's not due out until November 2, 2018, ever since Captain Marvel was officially announced back in October, fans have been clamoring for more information about Marvel's first female-led picture and have spent ample time fan-casting nearly every other big name actress to take on the iconic part. Some of the more popular fan favorites include Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road), Golden Globe-winner Emily Blunt (Edge Of Tomorrow), and certified badass Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck).
Well, it looks like we can throw another Carol Danvers hopeful into the mix as it sounds like Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) would be more than happy to put on the suit if asked.
At last weekend's press tour, CinemaBlend was able to catch up with the Jurassic World star and as the interview came to a close, they managed to ask her if there were any other current franchises out there that should would like to be a part of. Without hesistiation, Howard replied with: "Marvel movie" and when the interviewer suggested 2018's Captain Marvel as a potential role, Howard lit up in excitement, read her full comments below:
Oh my God, will you write that? Will you write that please? Yes, let’s start a campaign now. That would be rad. Those movies are so fantastic, because talk about just these incredibly drawn characters! That’s the joy of the comics, is that you fall in love with these characters and it’s who they are that carries you from journey to journey to journey… it’s not just about set pieces. It’s really about who these people are, and so, yes, I just would love to be in a Marvel film.
Bryce Dallas Howard as Captain Marvel? That would certainly make for an interesting fit. She's a talented actress and at the young age of 34, she would likely fit right in with many of Marvel's current star players. She's also no stranger to the superhero genre as one of her more prominent early roles was in 2007's Spider-Man 3 as Gwen Stacy.
While her role in the Sam Raimi-directed film may not have been a particularly memorable part, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow has gone on the record to describe her role in the upcoming dino sequel as a substantial one, and a role that will hopefully be remembered as one of her finer performances to date. If the Jurassic hype is to be believed, which I believe it is, she may quickly become one of Hollywood's more highly sought after actresses following Friday, so if Marvel did choose to look in her direction, they may want to pick up the phone sooner than later.
