We've long suspected that Captain Marvel will appear in Avengers 4 but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now confirmed that Brie Larson will indeed reprise the role of Carol Danvers in the currently untitled Avengers: Infinity War follow-up. That makes sense considering the fact that her solo outing is going to hit theaters before Avengers 4 but how will that work in terms of the timeline.
After all, Captain Marvel will be set in the 1990s so if Carol has been kept in stasis or trapped within an Infinity Stone, then Thanos is clearly about to do something that's going to change that. Here's what Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had to say about plans for Captain Marvel in Avengers 4.
"We’re really focusing on ‘Captain Marvel’ and the work that Anna and Ryan are doing. It’s going to be a big part of heading towards this epic conclusion and epic finale of 22 movies over the course of 10 years. That is focus for the next six movies we have to finish and get out. The focus now is on delivering ‘Captain Marvel’ and then bringing Captain Marvel’s story into the finale of everything we’ve started thus far."
It's clear now that Captain Marvel will start a story which crosses over into Avengers 4 and that means Brie Larson will start working on it soon if she hasn't already. Does that mean we'll get an official image of her soon or that she'll make an appearance in the Avengers: Infinity War trailer? Anything is possible but 2019 is now beginning to look extremely exciting for fans of the powerful female superhero.
