Last week Marvel Studios head man Kevin Feige talked about the Black Panthers roll in the Captain America: Civil War movie. He alluded to the fact that T'Challa played by Chadwick Boseman would be new to the mantel taking on the roll of The Black Panther, and that his father T'Chaka would still be alive or at least at first. A few months back Ernie Hudson was in talks with Marvel to land the part of T'Chaka, but according to Hudson he backed out of the job. I believe the roll as the older king of Wakanda is still open. Marvel Studios hasn't even started to even film in Puerto Rico, the place where I believe they will bring Wakanda to life. The set photos of a ran down African village I believe is somewhere else. S**t I don't even think Chadwick Boseman is on the set yet. The Civil War has been filming for months and not even a picture of him yet in or out of costume.
So back to Wesley Snipes, Wesley said when he talked about his recent meeting with Marvel Studios, he said they talked about a lot of things. When asked about Blade he said they talked about that too. So if they talked about Blade too what was the main reason for the meeting? I believe it was about T'Chaka, the original Black Panther and that's only right, being that Snipes has been trying to do a Black Panther movie for about 17 years now. He gave up Blade to try and bring The Black Panther to the big screen. He even tried to buy the character from Marvel to make a movie, he even considered going to Africa and filming a knock off version of his own. That's how much he loves The Black Panther. To finally see him finally get a chance to be in movies and get the spotlight must be bittersweet for Snipes being that he is too old to play the lead now but he is the perfect age to play his dad, but like the old saying goes...better late than never. At least I hope so! Snipes and Boseman will make a great father and son on the big screen.
