Captain Marvel takes place 23 years ago in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline and that means we not only got to meet a younger Nick Fury but also Guardians of the Galaxy villains Ronan the Accuser and Korath.

Neither of them ended up sharing the screen but there's clearly more story to be told as we need to see how Korath sustained that head injury (it may have been during that fight with Carol Danvers) and Ronan's descent into villainy after the Kree seemingly gave up targeting the Skrulls and went after the Nova Corps on Xandar instead.

Now, this new batch of concept art from Captain Marvel provides some very cool alternate takes on both characters as we see some vastly different designs and those which are comic accurate.

This one really reminds me of Pym's Quantum Realm suit

@MalseMarcel - That is the closest to his comic design.

It would be neat to be a concept artist.

Finally saw last night. Not as bad as I had lowered my expectations for. I liked it a decent amount. The first half was very strong and had a cool Guardians-ish Marvel-Space sci-fi action drama feel to it, loved the Fury Earth buddy cop stuff, just a slightly less focused second half and had a few cringey moments of dialogue with the identity realization. Didn't mind the Skrull twist, Talos was easily the MVP. Also appreciate they didn't kill Jude Law. Solid origin story. 7/10. 8 for style, loved the effects/look of this movie.

Everyone who I’ve asked about it has said it’s a 6/10 which to me is kind of a bummer. .

Some pretty cool Lantern designs in their at the end. Also that one with Ronan in the Green Cape and white Armor reminds me of DOOM

I liked how they kinda homaged all versions of the Kree with the uniforms they landed on, but I'd like for them to go full ultimate with the sequel if the kree factor in heavily

A sequel where Carol reveals the Kree crimes to the Nova Corp on Xandar, then they team up to fight the Kree would be awesome. It can become Marvel’s Star Wars, with epic space battles. And who wouldnt want to see Glenn Close and Annette Benning beating the tar out of one another. And it leads directly into Guardians of the Galaxy.

The third movie could be set after endgame, when Carol returns to find Xandar destroyed by Thanos, the Kree seizing their opportunity to take over, and Carol teaming up with Nova to finish them off once and for all.

@tvor03 - Somebody hire this man...

@tvor03 - This is exactly what I need. Bring back John C Reilly also to pass off the Helmet.

Would be hard to get Richard Rider tied up in all of this though. Maybe replace him with a shield agent that travels with Carol. Or merge Nova and Quasar together and have it be Wendell Vaughn who becomes Nova. Then you avoid the Dick Ryder secret identity thing.

I also had the idea that the Nova Corps funnelled off some of the Power Stones energy ala Mar-Vell in Captain Marvel and use it to create the Nova Force and Xandarian Worldmind.

I hope Captain Marvel 2 is set in the past and goes full cosmic. We don't Earth in that.
