Some new promo artwork for the upcoming Captain Marvel movie has found its way online via a couple of tie-in character notebooks, and it dubs Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) the "protector of the skies"...

Thanks to some new promo art that found its way online late last night, we have a new look at Brie Larson's Captain Marvel sporting her classic comic book costume.

The images are featured on the covers of a couple of tie-in character notebooks, which refer to the Marvel heroine as "protector of the skies." We're not sure if this moniker will carry over to the movie itself, however.

Despite recent speculation that the first trailer for Captain Marvel might be just around the corner, we haven't had any official work on that yet. However, Marvel Studios does usually debut teasers for its movies around 6 or 7 months before they hit theaters, so there's a decent chance we'll hear something soon.

@Invasion96 - Looking into the moniker, I have a feeling she's going to give Iron Man a run for his money with the flying aspect. She will probably be more nimble and with the added benefit to being capable with hand-to-hand fighting mid air. Quite a boon to the team.

@Vigor - I wasn't thinking about ariel combat. Vision is the only one who can use hand to hand while flying. I liked how they did Supes vs Zod in MoS. The fighting was very visceral. However i'd love to see them attempt to do something a bit different to give Carol her own visual appeal. Go all DBZ
