While Marvel TV will be represented, Marvel Studios has revealed that they're skipping SDCC this year - a move that's usually reserved for when there's a coinciding D23 Expo. The studio's absence is also putting the debut of the first footage from Captain Marvel in question.
While at a press conference for Ant-Man & The Wasp, Kevin Feige revealed that the first teaser is still "a few months out", before adding: "You already know as much as you need to. We've got Skrulls, we've got the Kree, it takes place in the 90s, you have Sam Jackson with two eyes and Carol Danvers, a unique telling of Carol Danvers origin story. We are about two weeks out from completion of principal photography."
That was a hint that fans might have to wait a bit longer than they're probably anticipating for the first trailer. Ant-Man & The Wasp hits theaters July 6. SDCC will open its doors on July 19, and Captain Marvel then arrives in theaters on March 8, 2019, a few months before the Avengers: Infinity War sequel completes Thanos' grand machinations.
When do you think the first footage will hit? We're presently 10-months out from Captain Marvel's release.
