Okay this is my first article so please be gentle. The Batman Blackest Night series starts off a little after the battle between Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), the Flash (Barry Allen), and the Black Lantern Martian Manhunter with the new Batman (Dick Grayson) and Robin (Damian Wayne) standing at the desecrated graves of Thomas, Martha, and Bruce Wayne. It is emotional for Dick but, more so for Damian. The comic further explores the dynamic between the two new partners and does show more of his vulnerable side that has not really been seen. I won’t go into every detail but a lot of Nightwing’s and Batman’s villains become Black Lanterns; including the Trigger Twins, Scarface (Albert Wesker), and Roland Desmond. If that were not enough, the Black Lantern rings resurrect not only Deadman’s (Boston Brand) body but the Flying Graysons along with Tim Drake’s parents. I enjoyed reading it and I think others will as well.

That really does depend on whose skull that really belongs to.

Ultimate Avengers rocked. Glad Millar is back on the book. I cant wait for The List: New Avengers. I want to see Barton go up against Bullseye.

Blackest Night: Batman was really cool. Sometimes these event spin-off titles can be a little below par, but not this one. I love Deadman and I cant wait to see Dick and Tim fight their dead parents. AWESOME!!

On another note how cool was it when Black Lantern Aquaman set all those sharks on the Atlanean soldiers in Blackest Night #2?

Ironkight27, glad to hear you liked Ultimate Avengers. I also picked it up but havent read it yet. Lookin' forward to it.

longbowhunter- I was worried how Ultimate Avengers was going to turn out after ultimatium butI never should have doubted Mark Millar. Its great to have him play around with these chracters again. I was also worried about the Batman tie-in to Blackest Night but I like the writer Peter Tomasi. He did a great job writing Nightwing and I glad he gets to write for Dick again even if it is just for a miniseries.

dellamorte1872- I made the same vow but I just had to pick up Ultimate Avengers and I was not disappointed. This tie-in to Blackest Night is not as shocking or jaw-dropping as the main book (at least it isn't yet) but it looks like it is going to be a great, solid story. I was kind of surprized that they made Roland Desmond as a black lantern and I am looking forward to the confrontation between him and Dick just as much as I am looking forward to the battle between Dick and Tim and their dead parents. I am not going to pick up every tie-in but this one I think you will like.

Anil- I didnt pick up Millar's run on FF4 and I missed his run on Wolverine (I am going to get that on paper back) but yeah I think he is going to rock it on the avengers. And when it comes to Geoff Johns the only problem that I have with him is that it feels like he is undoing all the things that they tried to correct with the DCU during Crisis on Infinite Earths. He brought back the multiple earths, a butt-load of Kryptonians, and Barry Allen ( I'm sorry I like Wally more). I am glad he brought back Hal Jordan. Even though he did all of this I still enjoy the hell out of everything he writes especially Green Lantern.

I am actually digging IronMan right now and that is due to Matt Fraction. I havent really been reading uncanny but I have been following the crossover between the X-Men and Dark Avengers. I want to see someone finally kick the Dark Avengers' a$$es. New Avengers is decent but it seems like they are not really going anywhere. Hopefully when Clint storms avengers tower the book will head in a positive direction. I can not wait for Clint to go up against Bullseye. Totally dug Slott on Spidey though.

The New Ways to Die storyline is worth picking up and Election Day wasnt bad either but I can understand where you coming from. I tried to collect all of the Spidey issues but it was overwhelming so now if I do collect something it is in a trade paper back.

I doubt that they would kill him again but yeah it was kind of messed up that he had sex with Wanda and left. He almost hooked up with Echo too just before SI. Clint's a heart breaker.
